We are docked in St. Georges Grenada on another pretty Caribbean day. The Shadow is in fine shape, doesn't look a day older than when we were last on her 3 years ago. Service and food are both a step up from our last cruise. We celebrated our wedding anniversary last night and had a wonderful dinner in Le Champagne. When we returned to our room, it was romantically decorated with rose petals, candles (well, not real candles but they fooled us for awhile), a fresh bottle of Susan's favorite wine and a wonderful chocolate mouse cake. They even made a bubble bath for us (but we didn't partake of that, alas). Our butler is recently off of Regent Voyager and his service is exemplary. The hotel director, also new to Silversea, came from Regent Hotels where he was most recently the North American director of operations. He has quickly instilled a wonderful, caring approach to his charges. The reception ladies even smile. There is a new executive chef and the food, so far, is superb, from the fish, to the beef to the poolside turkey burgers. The breads and pastries, which were a disappointment 3 years ago, are also much improved.

This cruise coincides with Hannukah, and there is a Rabbi on board and the hotel director has gone all out to make sure our evening celebrations are quite festive. For whatever reason, there are a large number of celebrants! The chef has latkes available every evening and La Terraza will have a special Hannukah dinner on Thursday, the 17th - all are invited!!

We pre-stayed at the Barbados Hilton. It is fine, but we are now spoiled by the Hilton in Los Cabos. The food, in particular at the Barbados Hilton, was quite disappointing. Still, it is a great location, beautiful beach and a great place to unwind before the hard work of a Silversea cruise.

Bequia was lovely as always. We taxied over to other side of the island and almost had Friendship Bay to ourselves.

Not sure what our plans are for Grenada. We've seen the island and beaches before, but we do need to replenish our nutmeg and bay leaves. For now, we are enjoying the soccer match across the way as the clouds roll in and then past. Took a picture of a beautiful rainbow this morning shortly after we docked.

Will post some pics after I figure out how to hook up my cell phone to the laptop!

Speaking of which, even the internet service is much improved over 3 years ago.
-
In short, having a wonderful time and will post again in a day or two. Jeff
