Miss Lynn and I will be departing for Lisbon next Tues and board Silver Spirit 21 Oct for the TA thru Barbados and on to FLL (24 days ). Will do most of my posting during the cruise on CC for those interested.

Betty, how can we resist such a polite request...absolutely will post here with pix (esp from Doug and Lynn's Grand Suite bash--where they host all CCr's in their suite--they did this on the Spirit's maiden crossing in Jan 2010) a homerun..due to the exuberant generosity of Doug and Lynn.

Oh, thank you. One of my bookings is the Spirit's crossing November of 2012. Maybe you all will love it enough to go again next year. Unfortunately, no Grand Suite to offer you. :)

We had a wonderful first day on board. Doug, Lynn, Ida and I arrived on board just after noon and immediately linked up with Emmy at the pool bar. After pre dinner drinks in Panorama lounge and dancing with stars quality dancing by Doug and Lynn we were off to La Terraza for our first dinner on board. Delicious. Very early this morning a invigorating workout (running, elliptical, lap swimming) . Went to the Panorama Lounge to hydrate and enjoyed a plate of fruit at followed by a delicious cappuccino, I ordered one and took it to Ida. This morning, Ida signed up very early for the five different L’ecole De Chefs programs, there will be eight different presentations including Knife Skills, Italian cooking demo, competition, and BBQ tips. Today's lectures: Divided by a Common Language—Andrew Johnson helps to make sense of the differences in the use of language. European Sunset/Pacific Dawn; The Return of the Dragon presented by Phillip Hurst. Tonight is the Captain’s welcome split between the Panorama Lounge and then the Bar. Since it is Formal Night, we ‘ll have a repast for dinner; Lobster Thermidor, Filet Mignon.

We had an enthusiastic cruise critic get together this morning in the observation lounge--15 of us including Doug, Lynn, Ida, David and I. Formal night pictures to be posted tomorrow..seas very flat--wecome change from 35 ft seas we had on the maiden Spirit crossing in Jan 2010. David had a exceptionally creative T-shirt on (Gone, Jan 20, 2013) will let him elaborate.

Thanks for posting Wes. David's T-shirts will keep you entertained on a daily basis. He might even wear his kilt for formal night. Sounds like you all have a wonderful group. Hope you consider booking for a repeat next fall. Yeah pictures - can hardly wait.

We had an outstanding Formal night last night preceded by the Captain's (Marco Sangiacomo's) welcome in the Panorama lounge. I learned who the enemy was after last night's delish dinner (Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Lobster Thermador)...White Chocolate Grappa--this grappa tastes as good as it smells. Tonight is the first production show; Aquarius Dawning, "here is your invitation to journey back in time and "Let the Sun Shine in." We are having dinner tonight at Hot Rocks and look we (Doug, Lynn, Ida and I) are looking foward to it.

We enjoyed another beautiful port day yesterday in Funchal. Last night we ate at Hot Rocks and enjoyed delicious surf (Tiger Prawns (ask for Garlic butter to cook your prawns in, Swordfish) and turf (Veal Chop, Filet Mignon, Prime Rib). We then enjoyed after dinner drinks and listening and dancing to the sounds of the Duo Sonny and Sandy on the Pool Deck.

We are now about two hours from our next port of call; Tenerife, Spain. Today’s enrichment lecture: Islands; Rock Stars of the Atlantic presented by Dr. Roger Lederer. Tonight is the Barbecue dinner Under the Stars. Showtime features International Violinist Ralph Allin.
