Pls ck this link, posted this morning on SS's site..some provocative deals: http://www.silversea.com/silversea.aspx?id=1678&page_type=enticingoffers&page_id=Programmes For example, for a Veranda Cabin on the Spirit (new SS Ship)'s Fall (15 day TA), we would pay about $10,700 with air (before TA amenities, thus even more savings)...contrast that for what we are now paying for ACROSS or SPAIN Voyager Grand Crossing fare (also 15 days) for $12,400 with air...some good SS holiday cruises various SS Cloud sailings at 1838 pp. Even Christmas starts at 1998pp

I'm not, either - maybe they made a mistake and removed it? $1838pp sounds too good to be true!

The new fares are posted on the SS website. If you already booked and paid Julie at B&K said not to worry. SS is going to review all current bookings and make adjustments if the new fare is more advantageous to you. That includes the Silver Sky program. They need 72 hours to complete the review, so don't bother them now. I'm not a patient person, but I have to bite my tongue and wait on this one.

Thank you Wes. I did find some of the 60% off for Silver Sailings. It takes some effort comparison shopping, with the different single supplements, air programs, loyalty enticements, air upgrade prices, etc. between Silversea and Regent. I did notice very nice pricing on some of the South America and Asia routes that only have 25% single supps.

SS is reworking the pricing, so things are in a state of flux for a few days. I still find most of the 2010 cruises at 60% off, which is really 50% plus, since they upped the full fare brochure rates. There are very few Spirit cruises for 2010 that are not at the 60% rate. Wind and Cloud not so many. Shadow quite a few.

I can't believe they upped the brochure rate and increased the discount at the same time. It sounds a bit underhanded to me, although perhaps they didn't mean it to be.

I just received this press announcement regarding the 60% off fares...
Andrea
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SILVERSEA ROLLS OUT UNPRECEDENTED 60% SAVINGS FOR VOYAGES IN 2010
Plus Free Air Available on Virtually All Sailings
Book Now to Take Advantage of Best Prices
(Ft. Lauderdale, FL -- July 7, 2009) Silversea Cruises is offering a new, simpler pricing structure that provides the biggest savings incentive in its history -- 60% off -- plus free airfare on virtually all voyages in 2010. The company's best-available, capacity-controlled prices are being offered for guests who book early.
The new Silver Savings pricing program will introduce the most generous savings opportunities first, and the discount will be lowered significantly as the sailing date approaches -- offering a compelling incentive for guests to firm up their vacation plans well in advance of their desired travel date.
For a limited time, and to coincide with the publication of its new Voyage Atlas (due for release shortly), Silversea is offering a 60% Silver Savings discount off the published fare for all sailings next year aboard Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper and Silver Spirit. The line's expedition ship, Prince Albert II, is also offering Silver Savings of up to 50% in 2010.
Effective for new 2010 bookings made on or after July 6, the new Silver Savings incentive will be available, eliminating early-booking and advance-payment programs. Other savings options, such as Venetian Society Savings (for past guests), Onboard Savings (available during the cruise), Extended Voyage Savings (when combining two or more consecutive voyages) and the Solo Travelers fare, will continue to be offered next year. "There has never been a better time to sail with Silversea," said Steve Tucker, Silversea's vice president of field sales for North America. "Without a doubt, this is our best offer ever and booking early is key. When you combine 60% savings -- offered months ahead of sailing -- with free airfare and our signature all-inclusive amenities, the result is an incomparable value proposition that travelers cannot afford to pass up."
FREE AIR OFFER
The introduction of Silver Savings is complemented by the offer of a free roundtrip air package that includes transfers between airport and pier on the day of embarkation and disembarkation. The free air package is available from 22 gateway cities in the U.S. and Canada on most voyages in 2010 (excluding expedition cruises). It is a capacity-controlled program valid only for new bookings made by December 31, 2009. Additionally, there are specially priced air programs available from another 50 cities.
Following below is a small sampling of voyages in 2010 that feature the 60% Silver Savings incentive plus free airfare:
-- AFRICA: Silver Wind's January 23, 10-day cruise (#2003) sailing roundtrip from Cape Town with calls in East London, Maputo, Richard's Bay, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Mossel Bay. Silver Savings fares start at $4,238 per person, including roundtrip air.
-- CARIBBEAN: Silver Shadow's March 30, 7-day cruise (#3007) sailing roundtrip from Barbados with calls in St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Bart's, Tortola and Bequia. Silver Savings fares start at $2,758 per person, including roundtrip air. -- FAR EAST: Silver Whisper's February 5, 9-day cruise (#4003) from Singapore to Hong Kong with calls in Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Hue/Danang (port of Chan May), Ha Long Bay and Haiphong. Silver Savings fares start at $4,918 per person, including roundtrip air.
-- MEDITERRANEAN: Silver Spirit's May 29, 7-day cruise (#5015) from Rome to Venice with calls in Sorrento, Sicily, Kotor and Dubrovnik. Silver Savings fares start at $4,358 per person, including roundtrip air.
-- SOUTH AMERICA: Silver Cloud's February 4, 8-day cruise (#1003) from Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro with calls in Punta del Este, Itajai, Sao Paulo (port of Santos) and Parati. Silver Savings fares start at $4,238 per person, including roundtrip air.
Silversea's all-inclusive shipboard ambiance features all ocean-view accommodations with butler service. Other highlights include complimentary beverages served throughout the ship -- including fine wines, spirits and champagnes, in-suite bar and refrigerator stocked with each guest's preferred beverage selections, open-seating dining, 24-hour complimentary room service, and fares that include all onboard gratuities.
All fares listed above are per person based on double occupancy for a Vista Suite and do not include port charges and handling fees that can range from $100 to $275 per person on these sailings, depending on the itinerary. Silver Savings is a capacity-controlled program and subject to availability.
Silversea Cruises is recognized as an innovator in the luxury segment, offering guests large-ship amenities aboard its intimate, all-suite vessels: Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, Silver Whisper -- and launching in December, Silver Spirit -- all designed to offer an atmosphere of conviviality and casual elegance. With the addition of the regal expedition ship Prince Albert II, the company's itineraries encompass all seven continents.
In the U.S., Silversea has been voted "World's Best" by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler (nine times) and Travel + Leisure (seven times), and rated Number-One luxury cruise line by high-net-worth consumers in the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI). International awards include "World's Leading Luxury Cruise Line" from World Travel Awards (2007) ; "Five Star Diamond Award" from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (2009); "Number One" small-ship line in the Readers' Choice" survey conducted by Britain's Condé Nast Traveller magazine (2007); "Best Luxury Cruise Line" by Spain's Cruceros & Destinos magazine (2008); "Best Luxury Cruise Line" by Australia's Luxury Travel & Style Magazine (2009); and "Best Luxury Cruise Operator" according to Asia's Travel Weekly (2008).

One of the things that I like about the new pricing is that you don't have to pay in full a year in advance in order to get the 60% rate. It's back to the old system of 10% down and final payment 90 days prior to the cruise. Also, the air rates are very reasonable. We booked the 20 Dec 2010 Spirit holiday cruise yesterday and the air is $599/per or @ $1200 total. Checked Southwest with the senior rate, which is about as cheap as you can get, and it was @ $1900 total. Nearly all of the 2010 Spirit cruises are at the 60% rate, which really amounts to 50% plus, since they raised the brochure rates. The press release is a bit confusing re air being included on almost all 2010 cruises. I find only a few with air included on the SS website. However, they may still be working on that.

Looking at my last post, I was wrong about those 2010 cruises with free air. I went back to the SS website this morning and found that more cruises include air than not for 2010. As a result, I switched us from the Spirit holiday cruise on 20 Dec 2010 to the 11 Dec cruise from Barbados-FLL, which has air included.

Just talked to Julie and SS has refunded the cruise differential($156) and the air differential($1000) for our 3 Jan Spirit cruise. So, they are doing what they said they would do and they are doing it fairly quickly.

For those interested, the 2010 SS voyage atlas is now available. You can order one on the SS website. It has all of the most up to date info on Spirit, including the stateroom layouts.

Me too. I can't believe the deals. 10/30/2010 is very similar to TUT but about half the price. Hard to believe you can do a 10-day cruise that includes Israel and Egypt, and includes economy air, for under ten grand. I priced a vista suite at $4444 per person (which includes the Venetian Society 5% discount). Can that be for real????

Just got the 2010 brochure - wow! A lot has changed since we last sailed SS. I see that the Wind now has an observation lounge, and the new Spirit has one as well. I LOVE observation lounges - big reason why I love Regent's Voyager. There are some pretty tempting itineraries here...we'll have to see how 2010 shapes up for us.

Well, we're going to be SS customers. Gretchen's employer had miscalculated when she'd be eligable for "full retirement." AS a result she'll still be working for the school system thru next year. AS a result we've had to cancel our Navigator Bangkok to Sydney. Couldn't go two whole years with nothing so did some quick looks at this summer and came up with the SS Cloud for a 15 day Norwegian Fjord trip (1-15 July CPH-CPH). Price was one of 60% off fares with "free" air wound up being $8398 for first two. So our per diem rate came out to $559 for a Veranda Suite with air and taxes included. We've done cheaper but Norwegian Fjord cruises seem to run a bit more pricey. Oceania for a PH3 was $9300 or so and Voyager was about $11,500 for similar itineraries. I understand Cloud has the size and "feel" of PG. Not as elegant perhaps as Voyager or Mariner but I think we'll survive. IF anyone has recent experience on Cloud (understand she had a soft good refit in May) I'd love to hear from you. Any particular sight seeing/excursions recommendations(yeah I know we'll have to pay for them) would be appreciated also.

Greg,, from the get-go, I'm not reporting about the Cloud. Some cruises are all about the ports and the intinerary, and this is one of them. I've not been on the Cloud, only SS's larger ships, Whisper and Shadow and loved both. I say you and your wife should pick the intinerary (as much as you have already traveled) and go from there with the time and the price. I've been on PG, but often think of the smaller SS ships as more akin to the Diamond, don't know why. All are great ships, just a few inches less in the couch in the "living" area.

We recently were on the Cloud from London (sailing out of the Thames which is quite an experience) around the UK and I can say that it is every bit as luxurious an experience as the Mariner and the Voyager, which we have been on also. The service on the Cloud was so outstanding, the excursions were excellent, the soft goods refit made everything look new (except the bathrooms which still need a bit of updating). The smaller size makes everything so relaxing--no waiting, no lines, staff knows your name right away etc. I would have no hesitation about this ship. Enjoy!

It's a good one for sure, Kim. Let me know if you book. I think I heard the 60% off deal ends in early October, so now would be the time to book...but I'm sure Susan has already given you all the details!

Well, a little monkey wrench thrown into the mix. We found out this morning that we need a new boiler for the furnace. Yikes!
You're right about the 60% off ending soon, Oct 5th.
