Lynn and I just booked Spirit from 2-20 Dec in the Caribbean. We'll be in 802. Would be nice if any of you from the T/A could join us. Captain Corsaro will be aboard until end of Jan 2011, when he goes on 8 weeks vacation.

Looks like you got that prize of a suite once again! Can't wait to hear about your cruise on this back to back. Some great ports on that itinerary.

Will and Craig from the Silver Spirit T/A cruise embarked in Valpariso yesterday and from their comments on CC it appears that things, service wise, have settled in to normal SS quality. They had no problems arriving in Santiago or transferring to the ship in Valpariso. Good for the Chileans!

I guess you have the the beautiful pictures on the Silver Spirit. We have a cruise booked on her in November. We also have a booked cruise on the Silver Cloud to Iceland and the British Isles. Have you ever sailed on the Silver Cloud ?? I would like to get your review in relation to the other Silver Sea ships. Many thanks. Rod

Rod, I've never been on the Silver Spirit, only the Shadow and Whisper, which are similar in size to the Navigator. (Cloud and Wind are smaller, and different) But both dougburns and colonelwes have been on Spirit, (on the TA in January) and both wrote reviews along the way, I believe here, but also on CC. Interesting reading if you can them on both lct and cc with a search.

From my two cruises, I thought the ships were so similar in every way to Regent that I wished if R had to merge with someone, it would have been with SS. However, the Carson family chose to sell to Apollo, which is associated with both Oceania and I believe, in a smaller way with NCL.

Perhaps it was the company I had (my daughter on the Shadow, all the BK'ers on CAMEL on the Whisper) but I would not hesitate to book with SS again, given my good experiences, with the right price and itinerary.

Masny thanks Olivia. I knew they were smaller than Regent and stange how brilliant minds run in the same circle - - I too wish R had merged with SS.

I think you'll really enjoy Silver Spirit. We certainly did during the T/A. Like every new build, they had a few growing pains, but that's all worked out now. Spirit is the smoothest riding ship I've ever been on. That includes 14 aircraft carriers, 3 destroyers, 2 cruisers, and numerous cruise ships. My letter to SS management during the T/A cruise is on CC under the Maiden T/A thread. It's quite extensive.
