I checked out their website which I guess is www.oceaniacruiseline.com and found the information on their to be severely lacking. Susan's report kindled my interest in maybe trying Oceania but it's tough to find the same level of information online as I can for Radisson/Silversea/Seabourn/Crystal. A related question would be if anyone can compare Oceania to Crystal. They seem very similar except that Oceania doesn't have set seatings for dinner.

Lawrence I would compare it more to Radisson than to Crystal.. same amount of passengers ( 650ish) not almost 1000. The ships are beautiful, food is excellent (ofcourse no freebie wine w/ dinner)dress is country club casual ( no formal atttire is required, unless you want to wear it)..although an owner of the ship once said if they catch anyone in a tuxedo on the ship they assume that person works for them and they'll put him to work !

Isn't it a beautiful brochure? I think they do a great job with it. I almost rushed to the phone to book a cruise with them ! I'm seriously considering doing an Oceania cruise next. The only thing I don't like is that the std. rooms are so small.
Did you have a std. size room in your recent cruise with them?

Yes I did have the standard size and it is more similar to the size of the Paul Gauguin but I think the cabinet space is better on Oceania. I don't spend much time in the cabin so it didn't matter to me, but if you want a comparable experience to the Voyager or Mariner, you would need to book a Penthouse. I agree with you that the brochure is beautiful, but what I like best is that the pictures are a true depiction of what the ship looks like.

The Nautica goes into drydock to be refitted in October before her Inaugural in November..she will be much upgraded from Insignia and Regatta..Polo Grill is being gutted and redone..the Owner suites are being completely refurbished from carpet to drapes etc., the pool deck also..there will be cabanas on deck 10 and new fabulous lounges by the Thalassotherapy Pool ..this ship will be a real treat!! Regatta and Insignia will be upgraded as they go into drydock to match Nautica..

I love the cabana addition Jan.
Susan and Maria, agree with you both. I have never gotten so into reading a cruise brochure, until that arrived- this one is really well done..

Hi Susan, the bathrooms in the Penthouse have tubs with hand held showers over the tub, in the balcony cabins you have just a shower stall..

best in owner suites, with 2 bathrooms, one guest and one all marble huge and gorgeous..with jacuzzi tub,shower over w/ wall and hand held goodies/ but........... no separate stall shower which sucks if someone can't "climb" into tub situation..
so be warned..
I wish they would reconfigure those to have a stall shower ( get rid of guest bath and make it, bath and shower)..
hmm.. think I'll email our friend FDR..
love to drive him nuts don't I Jan?

You are right, I liked both the owner's suites and the vista suites. Guess I will have to keep on working to be able to afford these though.

Hey Claudia FDR is home today and will probably be bored so will be on line (had some minor surgery yesterday) I would suggest that about the bathrooms in OS since he is gutting the suites on Nautica..maybe he will do it..great idea and he needs you driving him nuts..LOL
