Off topic of course. I do have an interview next week that looks promising. Next day they are looking at my gall bladder. Good thughts are appreciated on both occasions... (Not the same people I am happy to say..... Am I old or what?) And what's bursitis???

good thoughts for you SUE! My Mom had bursitis in her shoulder but sooo long ago I can't remember treatment for it.

Sue, Hope you nail that interview next week and your gall bladder and bursitis gets under control.

As far as old age is concerned, I think we need a list of what ailments we can foresee for us. Just last month I was diagnosed with vitreous detachment (nothing like a detached retina). Thought I was swatting gnats, but just big floaters in my eye. That has progressed with spider webs and a few flashing lights. I've seen two ophthalmologists and one optometrist. Everything is ok, but nothing they can do to correct them. The cause- AGE!!! I say again, We need a list.

Beth, I've been there, done that. I still have some floaters around after being screened for a detached retina several times. Yes, there is no treatment at all, but the brain corrects for most of it in time, at least the big ones. So the spider webs and batwings will hopefully fade.

Bursitis means inflammation in the bursa, which is a small sac associated with a joint.

How about fatty liver? That's another good one.

Thanks, Wendy. The only time I really notice the spider webs now is when I exercise. Glad to know they may fade away. One ophthalmologist told me my other eye will most likely be affected in the next 60 days..... joy~joy! :rolleyes:

sorry to hear, Sue. Good luck with the interview though! Gallbladder problems are usually pretty quickly resolved.

Making the list will be the easy part. Remembering the list and where we put it will be the difficult - or impossible - part!

Sue - wishing you all the best! Gary had bursitis in the shoulder. Quite painful - he took drugs to reduce inflammation, then got a shot of cortisone. Solved the problem, no recurrence in at least 15 years.

One needs to be careful about not too many cortisone (or similar) shots into joints; your doctor can advise on the pros and cons.

Take care and feel better. I agree with Anne about those shots. Speaking from personal experience, they can work wonders; however, you do need to be cautious and your Dr. will surely explain the amount of injections you can receive. Hopefully, one does the trick and you're feeling much better!

Ted, we're on the Dec.10 cruise too, hoping for the best for Voyager. There's a bit of a roll-call going on over at Cruise Critic.

(In other words I really want this job!)The gallbladder comes out Thursday. So far they think they can go with outpatient surgery - praise be. Well, I'm home minus one gallbladder. Now if only it had weighed 20 pounds I would have killed two birds with one scalpel. No driving for 4 days - guess I'll just plan on being waited on hand and foot. Time for a pain pill and bed.
