We have managed to be on cruises away from Florida for all the hurricanes in 2004-2005 except Wilma. We leave on Saturday for the Crystal Serenity in Europe and here comes Florence. When we leave, according to the radar reports, it will be becoming a hurricane in the mid Atlantic. It will not close the airports here on your departure but may be around here a week later. Historically, hurricanes forming where Florence is veer northeast and don't hit land. Here's hoping! Judith

Thanks for the update, Judith. Have a wonderful cruise. Fingers crossed that Florence does go out to sea. I discovered a leak in my roof last Friday when Ernesto blew over Ocracoke. No more rain until Randy gets the caulking done this week, please.

No such luck. She has formed, and even though it is early, the projected course would seem to bring it along the Carolinas.
We certainly do NOT need more rain. Here's to hoping this thing goes away or turns out to see and stays there!
