Just in case you might want to start circulating this among your network. If it’s not appropriate - - please disregard.
http://www.anysoldier.com It's a site where service people overseas sign up to get letters from those of us here. You can go to the site, pick out a serviceman or woman, and correspond with them. All branches of the service are included, so you can choose what ever branch you like. Many of them don't get much mail from home (some, none at all). Most of them have a little mini-page of their own where they leave their message to potential correspondents, as well as a list of small non-perishable items they'd love to have if you wish to send them something. If you don't, or can't, all the ones I read about said the material stuff is great but they really just want to get letters from home. I think this is potentially a great project for kids or classrooms, for those of you who are teachers or know teachers.
Anyway, just wanted to pass this along.
Mailing instructions are on the site so "your" soldier has the best chance of getting your letters/packages. Check it out!
