Hi all,
We're planning a visit to Australia next February. It'll be my 6th visit. Whenever we go, we revisit our favorite places and then add a new area to visit (which then gets dropped from a future trip).
For this trip, we're thinking that our new place will be Perth and Margaret River, totalling about a week in the two places - 3 days in each place allowing 2 half days for driving to and from. Does this sound like the right amount of time or should it be a 2 & 4 day split?
Can anyone give me any highlights of things to see and do in either of these places? I don't have any guide books yet, but plan on buying a couple. We like city sites, cultural things and light activity such as bicycle riding......not interested in camping, mountain climbing or any activity that challanges our survival skills. Also, we're not sun worshippers so beaches are not an attraction. DH will get in some dives when we go up to the Daintree in the GBR.
Any hotel recommendations in either place? We like places that are upmarket but have some personality as opposed to the latest big chain glass and marble palace.
Thanks all.
