The W, Marriott Times Square, Sheraton on Sixth Avenue are all nicely located ...Joanna, I'll check around. I've stayed at those hotels and they aren't the Ritz, but are very nice and are great for Broadway.

The Financial District has the best rates...try the New York Marriott Financial Center..you can do all sorts of things downtown..there are great food walking tours down there. The rates come in about $189 for a king there unless it is a special weekend. It's a great location and a lovely hotel. This area is an up and coming place for the best restaurants as Tribeca and the Meat Packing District have the hottest restaurants around. The lower East side is now very hot too.

the muse has large double rooms. the algonquin has small rooms but you can find great deals and the hotel itself has a wonderful lobby and the historic dorothy parker roundtable (plus a housecat whose name i forget). both are in the theatre district and not far from all stuff the kids would like.

well, joanna, right now he is ripping up a sock. 70 pounds of big baby.

try quikbook.com for good rates in nyc. that is my first place to go when i used to plan a nyc trip. that was before i found regent. now i save all my pennies for the boat. haven't been to nyc for over a year, and used to go every three months. you and yours will have a great time.

Hi You might want to check out the Affinia Manhattan which is near Madison Square Garden. It has very large rooms/suites for the same price as most hotels. It is not the Ritz, but you would have good space - up to 700 sq feet, which in Manhattan is huge. Good location right near Penn Station. Many of our friends stay there during the Westminster dog show and love it. Most rooms also have a small area with refrig and micro. Enjoy New York!

I have booked the Blakely Hotel 136 W 55th - two connecting suites, both have living rooms with tiny kitchen facilities and 2 big beds works well for 6 of us - gets A plus reviews on Tripadvisor - was the old Gorham and bought and redone few years ago - I think location will be perfect for B'dy shows -

Joanna,
What a great trip that will be. IF I ever have grandchildren, I want to be your kind of grandma.

I really enjoy this age Cindy - more than I ever did ages 1 and 2 too much work - plus their enthusiasm about NYC is contagious - just found out my son from CA will join us at the Blakely that week, too, for a business trip (in his own room) so should be fun! Diane I love quikbook - found Hotel Elysee with them one year - very nice

I was suprised that my room at the Blakely was large. When the hotel was the Gorham, they were tinderboxes.

Volunteering in a prgoram for "senior lawywers" (i.e. old) to teach law in Russian or Eastern European countries. Just two weeks. But in St. Petersburg! This brief writer will be teaching business law. Yikes.
I can read the language, but can't understand someone speaking to me. A few weeks ago I followed four Russian women all around TJMaxx hoping I could understand part of their conversation. Not a word.
