Today, I received some rather shocking news to the general effect that some of my posts here have offended some of the management of this board. I cannot give specifics, as none were given to me. All I know is I cannot recall ANY of my posts ever being deleted here and wonder why, if the posts were indeed offensive, they were not deleted. All of my posts here were intended only to call matters as I see and experience them, without bias. All I can guess is that unbiased reporting and commentary is not what is sought here.

If anybody has any interest in seeing any of my future posts, they will probably be on CC. Should anybody want to contact me, my email address is richhruth@aol.com.

Goodbye,
Richard

Richard, I have to say I'm perplexed. I admit I tend to come and go on LCT, but I've never seen anything offensive from you in the times I have hung out here. I wish you well, and undoubtedly will see you on CC (where I also tend to come and go).

I'll see you over on CC Dolebludger. I've always enjoyed reading your posts and do appreciate the time you called me about my impending trip on the Paul Gauguin.

Wow I have never seen anything offensive posted by you or anyone else for that matter on this board. Not even during the great smoking debate! Best wishes. See you at CC.

I will simply tell you that Richard called to work with my agency for the first time. I made a decision that I did not want to work with Richard and that he find another agency.

I did tell him he was welcome to post on LCT if he wished to do so. I have never deleted any of Richard's posts.

It was not personal but made for solid business reasons. I think it best to leave it at that.

There are plenty of good firms he can work with and I made the decision I felt was best for my company.

While I said I would not post here again, I've just got to reply to that one from Ngaire. Her account of the matter is correct, but leaves out the part where she attributed her desire to avoid doing business with me on the content of some of my posts. This is the first time in my 63 years of life that any seller of goods and/or services has refused to do business with me. I was both shocked and insulted.

I doubt that this post will be here long, but maybe a few will read it.

Richard, as a past business owner, I learned that sometimes not all customers fit your business model. Nothing wrong with the customer really, just that they would work better with a different firm. I don't know the particulars here but I would hazard a guess that that might be the situation. In my opinion, there is no need to feel insulted and no need to quit posting here.

This thread will not be deleted Richard, and as I told you yesterday you are welcome to post here anytime you wish to do so.

There are many members of the LCT board that are not my clients.

I'm sure glad there is closure here. I definitely feel a whole lot better about this matter than I did last night.

:lct:

Cheers! Ray

Richard,
I've always enjoyed your participation on this board as well as CC. I hope you reconsider your decision but will look forward to reading your posts wherever they may be.

Richard, sounds like the decision was pretty much what I had worked out in my head. Anyone running a business gets to choose their clients, for whatever reason.

And as Ngaire has pointed out, there are many participants in this board who are not Ngaire's clients.

I note that your thread on the other board has been pulled, just in the time it took me to go from home to office.

I appreciate the clarification. I know as an independent real estate broker for 25+ years I too had occasions when I felt the client/broker relationship was not a "good fit". Depending upon the time invested vs. the $ return vs. the personality mix I referred prospective clients to other Realtors. Richard, I'm guessing that the same would hold true to attorneys or any self employed/business owner. IMO you should not feel insulted. Many post on LCT that are not clients of B&K.

In my law practice, I referred out a number of terrific people because I didn't think our approaches would be compatible. I understand that it's probably hard not to take it personally, but I think most businesspeople and professionals eventually find that they serve some clients best by not serving them.

Richard, I've sort of given up posting on cruise boards these days. I remember talking back and forth with you from the Crystal Symphony in Asia in 04 on this board. Like me you have been posting on this board since it's creation. I never could understand why it gets so personal sometimes. This is about taking vacations not buying real estate.

By the way if you read this, the people that I bought my house from in New Mexico moved to Yukon, OK. To build race cars engines. Maybe you know them? Sure love their old house.
