I just got a "winter weather advisory" in my weather e-mail updates!!!! UGH...is anyone else here NOT a winter person????? I guess I picked the wrong area of the country to live!!! :(

You could move to Houston and then all you could complain about is the heat and humidity. But you would LOVE the winters and beginning of spring. Some years we have fall, some we don't. So far this seems to be a don't year.

Or you could move to Phoenix where you can complain about the heat (but usually not the humidity) Current temp 95F, humidity 13%, tonite's low, about 70F. :cool: :cool:

Or you could move to my part of Maryland where you could have "snow" days fom every obligation if there is more than 4 inches or so, Assateague island for off-road beaching in the spring, summer, fall, summer crowds and traffic like the city, no good shopping (for clothes) malls unless you want to drive three hours. But then you would not be where you were BORN, like I am! (I think that's my main reason for loving it, as I am a "rootsy" sort of person!)

Sheri, maybe you can move with some of our other LCT friends?

And let's not forget the island of Hawaii. The typical weather report has the highs in the mid 80s with trade winds to ward off the humidity. Snow, what's that?

WHINERS!!!
We already have over 5 inches of snow on the ground, and just had a little wind storm with 125mph gusts. And Autumn just started! :ohmy:
And only 24 days of sunlight left, this year! :(

Sheri - I'm with you. I'm not looking forward to another PA winter. (Especially since I read the other day that experts think we are about to enter into a decade-long cold spell.) :(

Phil - I have to say you are probably the clear winner in the awful winter weather sweepstakes. :)

What's the next cruise you're looking forward to? Somewhere warm and sunny, I hope?

There is a reason we do love Southern California.
30 minutes to the beach for swimming and surfing
an hour to the Mountains for skiing and snowboarding. 75 avg degree temps with sunshine and little rain and no snow. We have theater, good food, some nightlife and lots of museums and of course, Disneyland.

We have several seasons: Fire, Earthquake and Riot and Traffic which overlays all seasons and doubles in any weather where the sunshine has not surfaced :rolleyes: .

Sheri, I had to run to the mall and buy new slippers yesterday because I couldn't feel my toes anymore. I even broke down and turned the furnace on! I have already donned my winter attire, t shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants and fuzzy slippers.

I am being stubborn...haven't turned the furnace on yet, but this morning was soooo cooooooold....I brought all my houseplants in last night...I could even see my breath in my house this morning!! Yikes! BUT, the sun is supposed to be out today, and we should get close to 60-65...hopefully that will be the weather for the Browns game this weekend...GO STEELERS!!! Woo hoooooo

It's especially difficult coming back here after 10 days in Tahiti... <img border="0" alt="[hula]" title="" src="graemlins/hula.gif" />

Next cruise is two weeks on HAL Westerdam for reunion with co-workers and a charter, then September on the Diamond out of Rome... can I wait? It'll be tough!!

Can't compare to Phil, but here in Eastern Montana you can go from 110 degrees in the summer to 40 below zero in the winter.
Snow? Sometimes nothing sometimes 5 to 6 feet on the level.

Move to Vegas with the other 6,000 a month. Great weather except for about 3 months of heat. But, who cares, everything is air conditioned. October is great. Sleep with the windows open now. Born and raised in Western N.Y. (Buffalo) Enough said? I HATE cold weather been here 27 yrs and love it.
