I want to (mail) order some sort of a dessert (pie, cheesecake, cake...) for my Mom for Mothers Day. Having received some gifts from time to time, I know which companies I do not want to use. :( Do any of you have any companies you have used in the past whose products were good? Thanks for any suggestions you have....

Arlene, A friend just sent me wonderful "southern" homemade cookies as a hostess gift. Here's the link: http://www.carolinacookie.com These cookies are so good that I had to put them in the freezer to keep from eating them all at once. I pull them out one at a time and warm in the microwave. Yummmmm!

Wow, this thread is getting Yummier and Yummier with each new posting! :app:
To make sure the recipient is receiving a gift of the highest quality I would think the giver would have to order one for his or her self as well to know if it was truly good! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" />

I bet Paul, aka the Pastry Chef, prepares some equally delicious deserts, R! Just please don't tell us that he whips up a mean Duncan Hines bundt cake!

Thanks everyone for your input. I was amazed at how many of you recommended Mrs. Grace, as we didn't care for her cookies at all. I would suspect maybe her lemon cake is much better!
I think I am going to have a tough decision to make! I think I might have to order some samples first!

Arlene,
You might have just had an off batch - I send those cookies and muffins regularly as well as those lemon cakes and every one LOVES them!

Well the cake was beautiful and arrived as promised. My sister, the B'day girl REALLY loved it. So did I (do not tell anyone on the weight loss thread )It was not sweet which we liked but the kids did not care for it for that reason. I would order again and try a different kind. Thanks for the tip! ------------ Helen

Hi Helen,
So good hearing that the cake was a hit with the birthday girl and you! We don't like very sweet deserts, either.
Glad I was able to help. Now, did you save me a piece???? :D
