In connection with the 12-night June 26 Norwegian Fjords cruise, how many formal/semi-formal nights should one expect?

Ngaire: I believe you once posted evening wear combinations that works well for your husband. Would you be kind enough to refresh my memory.
Thanks.

My husband takes one black suit and one white shirt and two ties. Then he wears that black jacket on formal night, white shirt and tie on both formal nights.(12 day cruise two formal nights - we send the white shirt out to laundry $4 or so to have it cleaned). On informal nights he wears a silk tee shirt under the black jacket with either the same black pants or taupe or other slacks. ONLY ONE jacket is all we bring.

We will have two formal nights, and a mixture of informal and casual nights with probably 4 informal nights and 6 casual nights.

So in essence for night wear we bring
One black suit
One white shirt
Three colored silk Tees
Two pair of slacks, one light one dark.

The casual nights he wears the slacks with the a casual shirt and then he wears that same casual shirt during the day at some point. We even bought a pair of black/brown shoes so I only had to take one pair of dress shoes. He doesnt like that though he likes one black and one brown pair. We even have a belt that flips from Black to Brown.

Yes we now have it down to a science.

Rule of thumb. One formal for each 7 days. Over 7 days in length - two formal nights.

That sounds perfect. Crystal is a lot more formal. Most wear ties on informal night. There are more formal nights I belive causing the need for more laundry. I have two jackets. God forbid you should wear jeans on casual night.
