Welcome to LCT, Liz, from a fellow "desert rat." With all of your business travel, you must have great advice for us. Please don't be shy about sharing it!

You will love this board. It is somewhat like being in a candy store when reading about all the cruises and fun, more than anyone's travel budget can handle (unless you are Bill Gates or Warren Buffet)! Have fun in Alaska.

Awww!!! You guys are too sweet! I am very lucky to travel a lot for business to cool places (and some not so cool ones!) - which is one reason we haven't taken a "real" (read, we pick the location and time - not work!) vacation in a while. But for our 5th anniversary this summer we decided to just go ahead and plan a vacation for the 2 of us.

Our vacation time is eaten up for the next couple of years after this cruise unfortunately. Next year we'll probably be going to Slovenia to visit my dad who will be working there, and then in '09 to Ireland (for Guiness' 250 anniversary and a friend's 40th b-day). I guess it's not too early to plan for our 10th anniversary cruise though huh? When is the 2012 RSSC schedule released? ;)

Off to ask my questions!

Liz

Hello everybody - My name is Nini (but I've occasionally posted using the name of my dear dead sheltie, Ollie). I have decided to come out of the closet after lurking around for a long time. My husband and I are semi-retired (he is an accocuntant and I am a tax attorney).

We live in Hollywood, FL and also have a home in Banff, Canada, where we spend the summer months (and, occasionally, several weeks in winter, too).

Our first cruise was on the Navigator 2 years ago. We loved it so much that, this past Christmas, we took all of our children and grand children on it and had the most amazing time.

Now, we are scheduled to be on CROSS and are nearly counting the days. This past November, we were at a charity dinner and auction and bid on and got, one-way passage on the QM2, so on October 19, we are sailing to Southampton with friends. There, we will be met, driven to Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and on to Dover, where we will take the ferry to Calais. Then we will spend 9 days with our friends, ending in Nice, where they will fly back to FL and we will go to Monte Carlo to board the Voyager. We almost feel disloyal to the Navigator, because we both are truly in love with that ship.

Our daughter, Melinda B. is an occcasional poster on this board and has encouraged me to out myself to all of you guys.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in November - we leave for NY and the QM2 6 months from tomorrow.

Nini, Welcome. As a fairly new member, it will not take long until you feel like family. This is a great board. If you liked the Navigator, you will love the Voyager also. It is my favorite ship of the Regent line.

Everyone - thanks for your warm welcome - Kathy - I would much rather talk dogs (even though we no longer have one because we are away toomuch) and travel than tax code. I am a former IRS auditor.

Hello everybody:

Bonnie and I are brand new to the board and to Luxury crusiing. We will be taking our first Regent cruise on June 20th aboard the Mariner.

We live in Orlando. Bob is a CPA/financial advisor and Bonnie owns a floorcovering distribution company. We are 55 years young and have two daughters, the youngest of which is in law school.

We are very much looking forward to our cruise and adding more such adventures in the near future.

Hi Everyone:

When our cruise docs for Fjords arrived yesterday, I decided it was time to stop lurking and introduce myself.

My name is Kathy. I grew up in Cleveland, OH and my husband, Pete, in Syracuse, NY. We have 2 children and 2 Sheltie/Aussie Shepherd/Border Collie mix rescue dogs. Pete and I will celebrate our 29th anniversary while on Fjords. We lived in Dallas, TX for 21 years. When our youngest child entered college, we decided it was time for a change. The job search began and 3 years ago we moved to Boston. We love the city and the area. One of the perks of living here is that we are less than 4 hours away from NYC by train and less than 6 hours from London by plane. Life is good!

While we are not new to cruising, Regent or B&K, Fjords will be our first escorted B&K cruise. I look forward to meeting many of you in just a little over 3 weeks!

Hello,

I have been secretly reading this forum for a few days and researching many cruise lines and thought I would join and be able to talk to all the wonderful and informative EXPERTS that are here.

WOW what a collective group, I bet traveling with you folks would be fantastic.

I was born in South Africa and then moved to the USA and have lived all over the place from Texas to Utah to California. I work in Panama and we are developing a condo resort in the wonderful small village of Santa Catalina.

Anyways that's enough rambling.

I hope you guys don't get sick of my questions I will have in the next few months.

Thanks for the great outlet.

PM.

Thanks for the help.
