Joan and I live on the ocean near Charleston, SC. We are both on the sunny side of 70, but closing fast! We are originally from NY, but have been in SC for 14 years. I had a 35 year career in a corporate setting, retiring as a corporate officer of a Fortune 25 company - as a retirement avocation, I tought in a Masters program in a business school. Joan is a nurse and has worked with hospice patients as a volunteer.
We are experienced travelers, but not heavily into cruising. Much of our travels are oriented to the natural world - will be making our 7th trip to Africa in July - have been lucky enough to have set foot on all 7 continents at least twice, and since we are avid scuba divers, have dived in many of the world's oceans.
Until the early 90's, most of our waterborne traveling was on live aboard dive boats or river craft ( Amazon, Nile, Yang Tse, Irrawaddy, Danube etc.). Our cruising has put us the RSSC Mariner 3 times, Voyager, Diamond, and Song. We are booked on Navigator this Fall and 3 weeks on Paul Gaugin next year. Have been on Silver Whisper as well.
These boards have been of great value to us in travel planning. I hope we can provide useful information to others.
Ted

Ted, just visiting here for the first time in awhile, and I really enjoyed hearing more about you. I remember when I was on the Voyager shakedown cruise, and you asked me to scope out your cabin for a cruise you had booked. It was one of those spectacular large ones, right at the front of the ship as I remember, and as I took pictures (shared with Karen's help), I thought, this guy is going to LOVE this suite!
