Hello All- we are Betsy and Jim Fedde from Lincoln, Ne. Jim just retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and I have managed a large dental pratice for 25 years. If we are not at a dog show, we are at a soccer game or cheering on the Huskers! We are booked on the Paul Gauguin on Oct 14th. This board has been a great resource for this cruise.

We are very excited about our upcoming cruise-I have decided that Wendy the Wanderer is the PG guru-her posts have been so informative. A big thank you to Kristin for her picture album!

Welcome, fellow dog lovers! Are you in Poodles or Saluki's? We follow the Cairn Terriers, since we have a pet who has a Westminster dad and uncle in her pedigree. The rest of our pack are rescue!

We currently have a saluki in the ring that has done very well-in spite of being handled by his owner! The other two are cardigan welsh corgis-retired to the couch with a life goal of ridding the world of evil-one squirrel at a time. The only downside to cruising is leaving "the boys"!

Love those Corgi's! They are one day on my list of dogs to own. I commend those breeder-handlers. Lot's of hard work to just get to the show ring.

Welcome, Betsy, and thanks for the compliment on the picture album! We actually have a ton more pictures from our PG cruise to upload, which I realized after I uploaded the first set. The problem is, trying not to duplicate - what a headache - thus, I haven't worked on it any further. Anyway, that's my long-winded way of saying, if you wanted to see pics of anything specific, let us know because we may have the pics you want to see, but they aren't uploaded.

I love your screen name, and I love dogs! I've always thought salukis were so beautiful.

Hi Kristin- we really enjoyed your pictures! We are in #811- I was excited to see the inside of the stateroom and Jim was VERY excited to see pictures of the food! "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" is my new mantra. Thank you for sharing. We are such terrible photographers, we may have to show people your pictures when we get home.

You really can't take a bad picture in the French Polynesians - it's far too beautiful there! I think you will be pleased with your suite selection. Don't forget to walk out the front door on deck 8 - there is a large balcony there (sandwiched between the two grand suites' balconies). Even though it's technically a public area, it's probably the least frequented but one of the best places on the ship. Very quiet and tranquil with perfect views of where the ship is sailing!

We were on the PG in in 813 for our 40th wedding anniversary 4 years ago. IMO Deck 8 is the best on the ship with everything close at hand along with lots of quiet privacy. The butler service is especially appreciated. If you wish, you can view some of our pictures here. Hover for a comment and click for a bigger view. First, let us send our best wishes to you on your 40th (44th) wedding anniversary. What a lovely way to celebrate! Thank you very much for sending the link to your pictures-once again we are having a great time on someone else's vacation! We hopefully booked waverunners on Bora Bora-it was great to see those photos. My personal favorite was pearl shopping, Jim enjoyed every picture that had food in it or a lounge chair...

Hi Betsy, welcome aboard, and have a great time in paradise! I'm hardly a guru, although I do have a passion for the place, and the ship, so will answer anything you like.

I've never known a Saluki, but we hung around dog shows briefly in the 90's when we acquired an Alaskan malamute puppy, and our breeder was showing here in Toronto. Very interesting world, dog shows. We don't have a dog right now, since we're headed for condo living shortly, and we're both too busy working to really give a dog the attention they need. Maybe some day, a small one. Right now I have a cat. I'm a dual cat/dog person, so I'm content, although I still miss my malamute.
