Looking for hotel recommendations, preferrably near the sights.

The Four Seasons (in Sultanahmet) is in an ideal location - you can walk to many of the sites such as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Spice market, Aya Sofia etc. along with fabulous restaurants.

Many people are tempted to stay along the water, but then you'd have to take cabs pretty much everywhere.

I second Leslie's recommendation. A spectacular hotel in a spectacular setting.

Cheers, Anne

And I third Leslie and Anne's opinions. We stayed at the Four Seasons for five sensational nights a few years ago. Somewhere in the Hotel Section of LCT I wrote additional information about this wonderful hotel. Enjoy!!

Editing to add that I just noticed you've posted twice now....so...WELCOME!! This is a great place to learn and share all kinds of information and most important, to meet fantastic, fun people! :lct:

Oh, I love the Four Seasons Istanbul as well, but don't know your budget.

This is where I stayed on my last visit. Uyan Hotel Istanbul

It is located one block away from the Four Seasons. We had a lovely, very large air conditioned room with breakfast for a significant amount less (read: fraction of the price) than you will pay for the Four Seasons.

Regardless of where you stay, please, please have your hotel make reservations for dinner at Hamdi. The food is wonderful, but the view and ambiance are something you will remember forever!

Ciragan Palace on the Bosphorus gets my vote.. but again that would depend as Suzanne said on your budget -Ciragan pricey..but fabulous!
There is the Conrad ( Hilton)too that is alot less $ but really a wonderful hotel.
