We will be going on "SPLASH"
11/28/2011 Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale.
Plan on going a day or maybe 2 days early
and would like to get everyone's opionion on
hotels in Barcelona.

Jim, Take a look at www.gtahotels.com I used them for hotels during our 6 week Scandinavia trip and their prices were much better than going direct to the hotel website. They will list lots of hotels with descriptions, whether breakfast is included. location, nearby attractions etc. You can click on the hotel name to get more info. I was very pleased with all the hotels I booked with them. Jim

Thanks Jim for the info.
I know we have emailed before about
hotels in Barcelona and I am waiting to see your
choice before deciding what Jan and I are going to do.
It makes sense for us to use Regent Air for this cruise and that might have a impact on the hotel we stay at.

Hi Jim,
In the last few years I have stayed twice at the Atrium Palace, a couple of blocks to Plaza Catalunya (which is at the end of Las Ramblas). My parents have also stayed several times, and we always had very good experience. However, lately I have read several mixed reviews about the hotel so not sure if I can give an unqualified recommendation.
I have also stayed at the Hotel Colón , in front of the Cathedral in the Old Quarter, and liked it. But that was like 10 yrs ago.

Thanks Maria.
Actually Jan has stayed at Hotel Colon and
it was about 10 years ago so is on our list
mostly because of past experience and comfort
zone.
