Hi All, I have decided to stay for two nights in the Knightsbridge area in London. Has anyone heard of or stayed in the Knightsbridge Hotel or The Egerton House. Both are boutique style hotels. Any recomendations are welcomed. Thanks Macy

The Milestone Hotel is absolutely lovely. Five star. Food, Service and accommodations are "brill." Now don't I sound British???!!
I suggest that you look up these hotels under tripadvisor.com. It links Foders/Frommers with personal reviews and magazine literature, etc. I have never found it wrong in its reviews when there are both personal and professional reviews. I use it all the time. Do look up your other two hotels there. That's how I found the Milestone.

The Knightsbridge Hotel is part of the Firmdale Group of boutique hotels. We have stayed in 2 of them: Number Sixteen (we love this place and it is not too pricey) and the Pelham, both in S. Kensington, very close to the tube station. Highly recommend them. Check out the website firmdale.co.uk

We stayed at Knightsbridge Green Hotel, wonderful location. Across the street from Hyde Park, about a block from Harrods, kitty corner from the Tube.
Address is 159 Knightsbridge Green, dating from 1890's. The hotel book I use calls it Superior Tourist Class. 28 rooms. Phone 011-44-20-75-84-72-74. Fax 20-72-25-16-35
I can't find a Knightsbridge Hotel in my book. But I will look up the website Macy posted. It may be a new option for us.
Egerton House shows as First Class, intimate hotel set in 1880s red brick Victorian townhouse. 29 rooms. bar.
I've seen fabulous reviews of Number 16, as well.

Wasn't me, Macy. Todd is the culprit.

Thailand is safe - safer than Paris where you're likely to get pickpocketed - I did last year :(
