In the Caribbean, we really liked the balcony on the Diamond. However, we used it really only for breakfast, since we spent most of the day up by the splash bar in those comfy seats and everflowing drinks. In the med on the Voyager, we rarely used our balcony. Quick breakfast followed by day of touring. Therefore, for DOF, we are booked in a D7S guarantee. If they are available, and we feel like splurging, we might pay for the upgrade at the pier.
I can't understand those that pay for nice suites on mainstream or worse cruise lines. Why pay that much, often more than Cat H on Voyager, for the same poor food, service, amenitites as people spending a 10th of what you are spending. I really agree with Denise. I have found a cruise line where I enjoy the entry level cabins. True, someday it will be fun to cruise in a 1,000 sq ft suite on Celebrity with whirlpool tubs, butler, and plasma tvs. For now, though, the value with Radisson entry level accomodations can't be beat.
