Is midship the best area?? What is the advantage on a longer cruise to be higher or lower??

I am surprising my Mom for her 65th birthday with this cruise and that's why I need 2 rooms.

I hope that I will find some cool people to hang out with since I am kinda going alone. I have decided not to take the girlfriend for many reasons.

This is my first high end ship and the first that is longer than 10 days.

Celebrity Cruises 2-Not bad
Norwegian Cruises 2- Yuck
Princess Cruises 1-Good
