I think the best way to form an opinion on any cruise line is to experience it first hand. Everyone's preferences are different and you never know what pleases some and displeases others. I also think that each cruise is unique and what happens on one cruise isn't necessarily the norm for all sailings that follow. I have learned to take reviews for what they are, personal opinions.
As for food, that is subjective as well. I have been on a cruise and loved the food only to come home to read a review about how bland or salty the food was. I have even had to stand in line on Regent ships for dinner, most often when the show has just ended and the people come down the hall all at once. It's not really a big deal to me.
