I had some fun with this one today when I needed a break. I told this person I didn't appreciate getting spam. They wrote back that it wasn't spam, but they were letting us know about a new site. So being me, I wrote the following just now:
I find it hard to believe in this day and age you continue to insist you didn't send spam. ANY UNSOLICITED MAIL IS SPAM!!!(In case you don't understand the word unsolicited, it means: I didn't ask for it...and IF I DIDN'T ASK YOU TO SEND IT TO ME then it's SPAM.) And in case you still aren't clear, let me quote from the Heritage Dictionary:

spam (spm) Pronunciation Key n.
Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail.
tr.v. spammed, spam·ming, spams
To send unsolicited e-mail to.
To send (a message) indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups.
Based on this definition from a reliable dictionary, what you're doing is spamming! Care to try to refute that?
I wrote two more sentences but this is a happy site so I decided to leave those last two sentences off. :D
