Love those mosaics!

At first glance, I thought those were by Niki de Saint Phalle - an artist from France originally, but somehow wound up in San Diego. Her work was clearly inspired by Gaudi, as was maybe the artist for Giants House.

There's an art installation in Escondido (North San Diego County) called Queen Califia's Magical Circle that looks a lot like Park Guell in Barcelona. So if you're ever moseying around So Cal, and you like that sort of thing, you might want to look for her art here.

There's also a Saint Phalle installation in Tuscany - called The Tarot Garden - which I think would be excellent as a cruise tour from Livorno after you've already done Florence and Pisa.
