Just to add a bit more detail: we arrived in Hobart 12 hours late because Dag reduced the speed and steered the ship to avoid the worst of the weather and even though we could have arrived a few hours earlier, that would have been in the middle of the night.
We all (crew, staff, passengers)had to go though face to face Immigration (this was our first Australian port)so there was no point in arriving much earlier since we would have been "stuck" on board till that was accomplished. I doubt that anyone would have been happy to be called at 3am for Immigration.
As it was we arrived about 7am and Immigration started shortly after that.
