I didn't think the room was too small. As a Voyager lover, you miss the walk in closet and the enormous bathroom. That is the key difference. In fact, we rarely used the balcony because of the weather. If you have a non-balcony room, the rooms are almost the same size as the Mariner.

I liked the feel of the Diamond better than the Paul Gauguin and the basic rooms were much nicer on the Diamond.

You have to remember that the Diamond is a 12 year old ship and it is like an older and mini-Voyager. It was incredibly stable though and this is a real plus.
