Today had the most beautiful drive from Nelson through the mountains and national parks down to Arthur's Pass. We are staying at Grassmere Lodge
which is so much more than a working sheep station. It is beautifully situated in the valley below snow covered mountains along a beautiful stream. Parts of the lodge are over a 150 hundred years old, as old as colonial New Zealand gets. However, the suites are all new with all the amenities. The owner is very special, the food is incredible. Actually the food in New Zealand is world class. Tomorrow we are on to Christchurch and Queenstown. My husband is going skydiving. I may opt for shopping as the children will be so disappointed if I don't bring home a treasure from New Zealand. I will say we got the cutest sheep sculptures at Paritho. This is an incredible destination. Well worth the time and money.
