I know when I posted about a year ago that Regent no longer took Discover many on this board replied because they had Discover. Well here is a potential problem.

Did Discover send you new cards last May saying they were changing their numbering system (or something) and the old account would be cancelled in a matter of weeks? Everyone I know who has a discover card had this happen but it is only about half a dozen people.

Last week a fraudulent charge showed up on my Discover account. Turns out the charge came thru my OLD account number not my new one. It took Discover 2 days to figure that out. I did everything right and the charge has been reversed, accounts cancelled, new cards issued but I told my mom to check on her old number.

Sure enough Discover apparently has not cancelled any of those old numbers even tho they said they would. At first they wouldn't cancel mom's old one because it hadn't been used fraudulently but after several calls she got it cancelled.

So anyone who got a new Discover card with a new number in May 2008, may want to check and see if they can get their old number cancelled.

PS: if I lived in NYC I could go to the scammers place and take pictures of all going in and out because I got the address that the item was supposed to ship to.
