I think it depends on the chain. At Walmart I have to give then everything but my shoe size to buy generic Nyquil. But I can buy the real stuff (limit 2) for 3 times the price without doing anything special. Of course....now that gel-caps won't be allowed in my carry-on I'll have to work on Plan B.
