Vickie, I read Victoria Holt in high school and remembered reading one of hers under the name of Philippa Carr. Did a google search and found this on a messageboard call allreaders.com "Victoria Holt had 8 pen names. Her real name was Eleanor Hibbert. Her maiden name was Burford. She began with ELEANOR BURFORD (romance), then JEAN PLAIDY (historical fiction based on the lives of English Royalty from William the Conqueror to Queen Victoria), ELBUR FORD (True Crime), KATHLEEN KELLOW (fictionalized true crime), ELLALICE TATE (historical fiction), VICTORIA HOLT (mystery, suspense, romance), PHILIPPA CARR (a family saga about the daughters in a family from the reign of Henry VIII to the early 1900's) and she wrote one book under the name ANNA PERCIVAL (Brides of Lanlory). Maiden's Crown is currently reissuing several of her Jean Plaidy books."

As an elementary librarian, I told my children that you have to read the junk (comics, etc.) to know what the good stuff is. We need a balance in our reading.

Carol Higgins Clark (daughter of Mary) wrote a cruise ship novel called Decked.
