Thanks! An old one that I liked very, very much is "Desiree" by Annemarie Selinko. It's got some parallels to "The Other Boleyn Girl". Great for anyone going on the Baltics cruise or the Dover to Monte Carlo run. Mary Ellen found a copy for me at a garage sale. I am eternally grateful.

Marna Lou - I tried "Solitude" and didn't get too far with it. Best of luck with "Cholera".

I'll check out some of the other recommendations - thanks! In honor of ROAR I'm going to try the #1 Ladies Detective Agency.

Anyone like Sophie Kinsella's stuff? It's very light reading for the summer. I haven't gotten around to them yet but I love the title of the newest one - The Undomestic Goddess. Her dad is a real hoot (tennis addict y'know. He & Gary just can't wait to beat each other's brains out on the court. Male bonding)

Cheers, Anne
