Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers! They are helping! The surgery on Monday was a success and while the tumor had broken through the colon wall, the cancer had not yet spread to the lymph nodes.

So, it appears that the cancer is between stage 1 and 2 and that it should be very treatable at this point

My mother-in-law is slowly recovering from the surgery and should be hopefully home in time for Thanksgiving. Then it's on to chemo.

We are much more optimistic now than we were at the beginning of the week. Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts!
