Sad news this morning. Admiral Crowe, former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former RSSC lecturer, passed away yesterday. He was a speaker on the Song of Flower Baltics cruise in I think it was 2000. He gave a particularly memorable telling of the seige of St. Petersburg during WWII. He also was one of those speakers who mixed widely with the other passengers. We had dinner with him and his wife a few times, and explored Helsinki with them. Both charming and smart people, and he was quite the story-teller.
