We had foxes back in Colorado. Red Foxes. They never to my knowledge went after dogs. They were few and far between. Coyotes will, especilly smaller dogs. If you have a game and fish dept. where you live, they would be the ones to ask. One thing happens to these wild critters when they live in populated areas, they lose their fear of man and his domesticated friends. Your probably being safe in keeping your pet close at night. The fox would win the fight if cornerd.
