Price the same no matter when you purchase it before the cruise.
Almost all insurers will waive the pre-existing condition clause if you buy from one week to three weeks from deposit. Most insurances are non refundable, some are transferable.
The thing I like about CSA is that you dont have to buy it early to cover pre-existing so you dont risk that money for the insurance like you have to with the other insurers.
Neville I dont know but I think you must be talking about the reassurance policy that Silversea offers. This is not a regular insurance "where you get your money back" but an insurance where if you cancel within 14 days of the cruise you can get a cruise credit for the amount to use at another time. It is not the same thing at all as a regular insurance policy where you get a refund of your money.
The "medical" coverage is simply peanuts in the cost of the policy. The big cost of the insurance is all about cancellation refunds. Even if you found one without medical coverage (dont know of any insurance like this) the difference in premium would be almost nothing.
