Sorry for the redundant post (well, redundant to CC), but I'm really not checking that site much anymore. So far it looks like Antarctica on Explorer II has been a disappointment and that the Amazon River's scenery tends to be of the brown, muddy water persuasion.
Any ideas for 1Q 2005? One of the World Cruise legs? Paul Gauguin? ABC islands in the Caribbean (if that's offered)? I would love for something that's 10 to 14 nights in length. I'm finding that 7-nights is just too darned short, especially when this group of folks are on-board!

10-12 nights would be nice. Can we wait until the 2005 schedule is released? It's so hard to confirm without a schedule and prices. How about Alaska?

Definitely should wait until the schedule is out. I'm just migrating the outstanding questions I had from CC over to this site, and thought I should do so before I forgot.
Alaska definitely would be great for the summer! Hopefully they'll offer a San Francisco to Seward itinerary or something of that sort.

If you've not been to Alaska, I strongly suggest you do that.
Alan and I went on the Navigator to Alaska, July 2002, and we loved it! Magnificent, pristine and breathtaking trip!

Lawrence:
Sorry, but I don't know if you have been on the Paul Gauguin cruise of French Polynesia. If you have, sorry for the repitition. If you have not, GO!!!
This is the best tropical cruise in the world, period. If you like to get in the water for diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking, or whatever, this is it! Three total days of all inclusive beach parties. Fantastic Polynesian entertainment. Great excursions.
We took this cruise in Feb. '02 and '03 and I am sitting here wondering why I am in Oklahoma in Feb. '04! Didn't book. Made BIG mistake!
So, if you have not been on this one, just GO! You'll love it.
Thanks, Richard :) :) :)

I am pretty much in withdrawl. It's been 13 days with no cruise planned. Let's just hope the 2005 schedules come out sooner than later :)
Even though it's been snowing non stop for weeks, I am intrigued by Olivia and Denise's Alaska suggestion. So now I have my wish list narrowed down to Alaksa, something Mediterranean , and Australia. Hawaii is in there too but I doubt if there will be many RSSC options for that.

I guess when you've had the winter you east coast people have had, suggesting Alaska now is very poor timing!! OOPS!
Something to consider when the east coast gets hot and steamy in the summer!

It will be one year ago tomorrow that our group of 5 couples began the trip of a lifetime to Tahiti and our cruise aboard the Paul Gauguin. The memories are still fresh in our minds. If you have not done this talk to Ngaire NOW!!

FP is in the works for the growing GROUP that is not a group. We just need to start selecting a month and a week...
Oh, and I'd be very interested in a Suez transit and/or something that led to a trip to Machu Pichu...

On the Amazon cruise. Lawrence dont take one review to heart too much. I have heard that but I have also heard wonderful things about the Amazon cruise. So different strokes for different folks again. No one is right no one is wrong just different perceptions and expectations. Whenever you expect to see a lot of wildlife you will probaboly be disappointed UNLESS you go to the Antactica or Africa. I also have heard the "brown water" comment before so I do think that the water is pretty brown in the actual river but I also hear there are a lot of color changes during the cruise which make it kind of interesting.
I got one glowing review from the Antarctica trip. As this person raved about the experience I asked about the food and rooms. As you know we have heard bad reviews on the food and rooms. Her comment "well it was not Radisson - but you should not expect that we were on an expedition ship --- now let me tell you etc etc etc." She said she would board the explorer again in a minute and wanted to know if RSSC was chartering it for any other cruises. This person has sailed on the Diamond before and many other cruises.
Same trip - different views.

Okay gang...then, if I am understanding Ngaire correctly, we need to start talking about a 2005 PG date...maybe we should start taking opinions?? Honestly, except for the early part of 2005 (it's too close to MINT), I am game for any time during the year...so any time April/May or after.

We're flexible. We could celebrate Tom's birthday on April 28th...this works for us. :) Does late April work for others?

We might be up for PG in April. A lot will depend on what happens in the next few weeks regarding a real estate investment in NYC that we're into and Nancy being able to get time off from her new job (on top of MINT).
But the travel time to get to FP is a real turn-off, even with the pre-stay. I just have great difficulty (neck problems) flying that long even in business/first.
We're also interested in the Med but will have to wait for the '05 itineraries.
Regards to all, Bill

The only thing we have penciled in for 2005 is Alaska over Memorial day Weekend.
Arlene is suffering from snorkeling withdrawal. If we can swing the time, I think we might be up for a b 2 b PG during free air time.
Another option is the SE Asia segment of the world cruise.
Of course, we will have to have the fall reunion cruise. Maybe a 2 for 1 caribbean to some new ports.

2005 for us is land based Europe, probably England/France as Paul has never been. Oh well...

We are hoping that Radisson will have some great deal in the offering to the Baltics in 2005. That is our first choice.
Marcie,
Happy to learn Tom is also an April baby, like me. My birthday is April 15 - Tax day (YUCK!). We can both celebrate in Vegas!

These are great ideas! PG in either early summer or the fall would be ideal for me. I'm definitely going to do one of the Amazon River cruises, which I suspect will end up being in late January/early February.

Marcie, Tom's birthday is April 28? I think that's the birthday of Adolph Hitler as well! Explains a lot about Tom....Now MY birthday is April 06, so between Tom, Denise, and myself, we've pretty well got the month covered. Any other April babies out there? (I just bet Joanna's an April baby too - no one can talk that much and not be an April baby!!)
I STILL want to do the Marquesas, maybe Ngaire can work some of her magical prowess with RSSC and get us some special??? (hope, hope, etc.) I can just see Kimmi, Karen, Sheri, Marcie, Joanne, Kathleen, Erika, Gretchen, Ngaire, Nancy, Suzanne turned loose onto the Society/Marquesa Islands - the natives would never recover!!
So my vote is for the Marquesas..Anyone else?
Marty (Guiseppe Gianneschi)
P.S. Don't forget we want to take one last cruise on that beautiful Diamond before they remove her from the RSSC list. Best food and service I have ever had -anywhere.
The Sheik

Nope..Hitler was born on April 20th...good try! hehe
Marty, as much as I'd love to do the Marquesas Islands (if only to be with YOU)...I'm afraid that with no free air and the high cruise fare, it is somewhat prohibitive. This is unless you're going to treat the members of your harem! (answer for yourself and don't run this ? by Erika first)

To those of you interested in Brazil and the Amazon, I noticed that tomorrows NY Times has several articles on Brazil. I haven't read them yet so I don't know if they would help with cruise planning, but they are there. It's called something like "Embrassing the Spirit of Brazil"

Masaki,
April is a wonderful month, despite Hilter and taxes. After all, you have an anniversary in April, our Vegas LC group trip is in April (how about joining us and celebrating?), and Tom and I have birthdays in April. And, my birthday is April 15 - Tax Day! But, I plan on celebrating anyway, despite being broke from the taxes we will have paid!

Thanks, guys - feel better already. Would LOVE to join you guys in Vegas in April but time won't allow us ... we're doing a skiing trip with the folks to Whistler in late March even as is. Cross your fingers for us and hope that we don't break a leg!
