As this is my first cruise of more than 1 week, it will also be the first one on which I plan to avail myself of the launderette. What is the size of the machines? Full loads? What hours is it open? I tend to be an early riser (though heaven knows if that will hold true when I'm in a place 13-14 hours ahead of my usual body clock), so am hoping to beat the crowds. I'm thinking I'll want to do it the day before we hit Beijing, but I suspect that everyone else who is taking the Xian trip will want to do the same.

Crystal, the front loading machine is smaller than most of us are use to at home (about 1/2 size). The provide soap but no Bounce sheets so bring your own if you desire. The hour open is 7:00am by the sign posted (as I remember). Some times they lock the doors at night and sometimes they don't. I sent Tom there at 7:00am and both the machines were going strong so someone went earlier or couldn't read.

that is a good point, there is very strong actiivity in the laundry room......
We plan to take some dinners in our cabin and when all are out dining the machines are free.

The soap is a biodegrade type and does not have the power of your favorite detergent.

There is also ironing gear to use

Another use point is book a cabin near the laundry room as this is a very popular place.. :b:

I think the Mariner has different type machines than the Voyager (whirlpools, I think although it's been a couple of years since we've sailed on the Mariner) . . . larger capacity and the laundry rooms are bigger as well BUT not on every deck. Also the location in near the front elevators as opposed to behind the rear ones on the Voyager.

Someone who's been on the Mariner more recently will have more recent information . . .

Hope this helps . . .Peggy
