Hello All. Well, day 1 of 125 went exceptionally well. I met up with Colleen and Tim an dFred and Al. They are all very nice. Also met a interesting lady named Betty. This is her 16th World Cruise. But anyway. WOW WOW WOW. Is this not the most deluxe experience. Everything you all have sais about Radisson and the Voyager are true. Truly wonderful. So today we are in Key West. A little bit breezy and cool. Tomorrow is a sea day and I will get to work on deciding which shore excursions I need to sign up for for the rest of the voyage. BTW. The World Cruises on this pre-crusie segment do not get free liguor as previoulsy promised. Oh Well. Will have to ration that one bottle of Grey Goose I got. More Later. Have a nice day! PAUL

greeting Paul! So glad you are checking in with us already! Keep those reports coming. And just keep in mind that while you are enjoying "breezy" in Key West, we are freezing our butts off here in Philly (-10 with wind chill this morning!) As to the one bottle of Grey Goose...you might want to pick up another in Key West...just to tide you over! Enjoy!!!!!

Thanks for posting Paul!! We're getting so excited to be joining you soon! BTW, does Voyager now have the WI-FI (I think that's what it's called for wireless laptops). I was told that this would be in place by the time of the World Cruise.
Keep the posts coming!!

This is wonderful -- it seems that I'm going to be able to basically live vicariously on board until my own cruise in May! Between Marc while he on Voyager, then Wes, and all the others who take the time out of their vacations to post while on board, I am able to feel as if I'm experiencing it as well.
Paul your excitement and enjoyment are palpable! I wish you the most wonderful 124-more days. And do drop us a line when you have a moment!

Wasn't he recently? Or am I going senile? That wouldn't surprise me -- I turned 45 yesterday, so I guess I now have to acknowledge the fact that I truly am middle-aged!

Hi All. Well it did get up to 67 degrees here today so not complaining. Colleen, Ted and I are having dinner tonight at Signatures. Yes Marci, they have added WiFi but they charge $25 per day to use your own laptop. I signed up for the 20 hour package at $75. I have to use their equipment but it comes out to $3.75 per hour and is good as long as you have time left. The speed seems to vary depending on which machine you use.
More later. Paul

Paul, where is your next destination? Glad to hear you're having fine weather, although 67 is not exactly sun-bathing temp, is it?

Paul,
Glad you're having such a good time. What a great start to your trip. You are going to be soooooooo spoiled by the time your world cruise is over.
67 sounds pretty good to me right now. The wind chill in Philly was below zero this morning. :(
Thanks for taking the time to post - it's so great to read the "live from the ship" stuff.
Happy Holidays!

Aren't all of us 45, except for those that are younger? The Sheik will back me up on this.
Paul, did you have everything out to make your room homey? Where did you put your Christmas tree?
Everyone is anxiously awaiting more reports.

Hello All: I see Colleen is doing a good job posting so I won't repeat our experiences here. I will say that I am finally adjusting to life at sea. Spent a fortune at Carita Spa today but my face has never looked better. Why does it cost so much to look pretty? (handsome) Anyway, they are having a Holiday door decorating contest. Can anyone give me some ideas? More Later. Tux tonight. PAUL

Paul, wish I could give you some door decorating tips, but I am just the worst when it comes to things like this. I'm left-brained.
I can't think of a better way to start your cruise than a day in the spa. When I get on, I am going to get whatever you did done to your face!

Paul: Keep track of which treatments you really liked so when we get on you can advise - I love going to the spa but the money adds up!! On VJ7 I won two bingo pots and took my winnings to the spa - on Mint I used our credit for not going to Cabo on the spa - I used Tony's too as I recall - Joanna

Greeting from Cozumel. Well last night was Formal and I must have looked swell. I got two dinner invitations. The first one is for tonight with Gleen the Cruise Director and Betty (16 WC's). On Sunday, Betty, Barbara and her husband asked me to join them in Signatures. Met The Capitan last night. He is leaving in LA. Capt DAk get the WC. Glenn is leaving too. I guess it depends on who has the most seniority. Dinner last night was superb. Colleen, Ted and I had great table mates. The food was delish as usual. It getting harder watching everyone eat those yummy deserts while I sip on my after dinner coffee. But a carb is a carb and would rather drink one than eat one.
After dinner last night, the Show was a presentstion of various opera songs. It was excellent. More later. Lunch time. PAUL

Hello all for Roatan, Honduras. Spent the morning snorkeling over a reef. The wather was perfect. Enjoyed this port more than the visit to belize last June. Marcie, I've met a few more people on the full world cruise. I'm trying to identify the fun ones for you. Did'nt see Colleen last night as I ate at the Solo Travelers table. Will find Colleen for dinner tonight. More later. PAUL

Paul: I'm just a little unclear on one thing. From your first post, I take it that you are on a "pre-cruise" segment of the World Cruise, which is not open bar. Do you know if the segments of the World Cruise AFTER the "pre-cruise" segment will be open bar? Just for my info, as Mark Conroy said the World Cruise '05 WOULD be open bar in an email reply I received from him some time ago, although he said nothing about the "pre-cruise" segment. Thanks, Richard

Richard, I can answer this one...YES, all the segments (1-7) of the World Cruise are open bar regardless if you're on the full cruise or just one segment.

Marcie is correct. I'm looking at the World Cruise brochure and that is clearly stated. I'm just wondering if we'll also have booze in the stateroom as well. When we were on an open bar cruise aboard Diamond last Spring, we did not have bottles in the stateroom. I sure do hate to bother room service for my afternoon toddies. It wasn't really a problem on Diamond, because it was a real short walk to the Splash bar. Not so on Voyager though; we're on deck 8.

Hello All. Merry Christmas from the VOYAGER. All is calm. THe Grey Goose is holding up fine and after the 5th of Jan, it should be great. Just stopped at San Andreas, Columbia for a couple of hours. Technical Stop. Dinner last night was at Latitudes. Very good but a little slow. Over 2 hours. They may have had a problem last night. But was fun anyway. Thanks to Colleen for inviting me. Tonight is Christmas Caroling and a Special Show. I'll be home for Christmas by the staff. Well take care everyone and Merry Christmas. PAUL

Day After Christmas in the Panama Canal. We all had a great day at the Gatun Yacht club. We entered the Gatun locks at 6:00 AM and spent the whole day in the lake. We left the Canal at 11:00 PM exiting into the Pacific. The Christmas show on Christmas Eve was heartwarming as the cast members described their personal Christmases at home in their repective countries in between Christmas Songs. Today we are sailing around the Southern Tip of Panama and will head North soon working our way to Costa Rica. Everything is still wonderful. I was sorry to hear of the earthquake and Sunammis in Asia. More Later.
