If you don't go into Florence, any opinions on the best excursion for the Livorno stop.
Pisa, Lucca, wine tasting?
I never thought these words would leave my lips, but not really interested in outlet shopping.
Thanks.

Hi Betty...just looking over he excursions as well and while I would like to go to florence, I am not sure I would want to do a 9 hour tour. I am thinking about the Glory of Pisa tour,....just can't imagine not seeing the leaning tower, however the wine tasting always sounds good...also a question for you...i am looking at doing the amalfi coastline by helicoptor and capri tour...any thoughts on that?

Last year, while my mother did the Florence excursion, I took a cab with my Dad to Pisa for a few hours. (my DH had to leave the cruise for a vcouple days for work!) We had a wonderul time...I had even booked to climb the tour ahead of time over the internet (it can get quite busy during certain times of the year and because it leans, a small amount of people go up at a time). There is alot of other stuff to see in Pisa....a very worthwile day and you could do it on your own.

Cheers, Pam

Hi Clare,

I am so sorry, but for some reason I did not see your post with questions until this morning. Regarding the Amalfi Coast, I am going to do the coastline drive. I don't do helipcopters. It's a fear factor thing with me. I have decided against Florence and am going to do Lucca.
Looking forward to meeting you. If I were already packed, I would be ready to sail today.

We liked Lucca very much even though it rained all day plenty of cute shops and restaurants and sights - we took ship bus in and had tons of free time - - I agree the length of Florence trip overwhelms me - talked to a gal who had done it in 2003, much younger than my age, and due to running into traffic or some such tale it was over a ten hr day no thanks!!!- I thought Amalfi coast drive was spectacular - not doing it this time as we did it in 2003 - going back to Capri we loved it - and just hanging in Sorrento or maybe will grab a cab - playing it by ear - I can't handle all day tours I am too pooped at night

Hi Betty, Do be aware of the pickpockets in Pisa. My brother was walking with my mom last summer and felt someone close behind. He turned around and there was a man, jacket over arm, with his hand in my mother's purse. My brother slapped the man's hand and said in a loud voice, "Get your d@mn hand out of my mother's purse." Too bad this continues. Just a FYI.

In Sorrento you can take the Radisson shuttle to a nice area of town with shops and the ever popular Manhole cover with webcam.
