This is a photo of Lexie, my DC mascot. I bought her this summer at the NC Ferry Store right before Crystal, Randy and I boarded the ferry from Ocracoke to Swan Quarter. I plan to take photos of Lexie (like Debbie's Bob) in different locales on the cruise and safari. Won't she be excited to see some of her relatives at Madikwe Hills? ![[Linked Image]](http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a204/bpunte/Discovery%20Collection/Lexie.jpg) Crystal and I are each taking along a Flat Stanley for some 2nd graders in one of my former schools. Our Stanleys will be reporting back to the students what he sees along our journey. I'll post the Stanley photos later this week.

Hi Beth,
Checking in on one of my favorite sites and saw your post. Love the mascot. Can't believe your big trip is here already! Look forward to reading all about the journey, the wonderful Navigator and your trivia wins! Although we are extremely envious Vinnie and I send our very best wishes from NYC.

Beth,
I'm looking forward to meeting both you AND Lexie. He's adorable and I love that he's a redhead. Just try to keep the noise in 611 down to a small roar... :D

Thanks Debbie. By the looks of your counter, you and Todd will be getting on the Voyager the same day we disembark the Navigator in FLL. What a fun Christmas you both will have!

Looks like I'm going to be outnumbered by the redheads. Dare I ask what hair color Flat Stanley has?
Debbie, I've always wondered what it would be like to go on a Christmas cruise. Will be interested in reading your reports!

See you at Madikwe Hills Crystal. Be here before you know it. The real desert lions (big guys) are waiting for you, Beth and Lexie to arrive.

I am now interested in Flat Stanley, too and have been checking out flatstanley.com (clever, aren't I, lol). In some of the stuff, his hair is reddish-brown, and in some it looks black. Beth, what is up with that?
Crystal, I haven't been on a Christmas cruise. We have done all-inclusive resorts on a number of years. This will be a first, and next year, we are booked on Silversea for both Christmas and New Year's on the Seychelles/Madagascar, etc. cruise. That will be out "critter cruise" where we try to see as much as possible.

Debbie, Our Flat Stanleys have black and brown hair. It just depends on the color the children choose to color it.

Beth and Crystal, Look forward to your posts and pix of Lexie discovering the wonderful world of cruising.
Debbie, I have been on the Voyager over Christmas and New Year's and it is magical. Great fun, great people, great food, great way to celebrate a holiday. I am sure you will enjoy yours too.

Brian and I still reminisce about the grilled lobster served on the pool deck on Christmas Day. We hope they repeat it on our upcoming cruise. Being a holiday cruise there were a number of families with children but for the most part they were well behaved and we hardly noticed them. It was fun to see them so excited when "Santa" arrived. And the Christmas cookie elves were baking on overtime. There were gingerbread houses and a unlimited supply of cookies everywhere you went. Not to mention the ship was festively decorated. And it was fun to see how the different ports of call were decorated for the holiday. We enjoyed it so much we are thinking of doing it again in 2009. Sandee
