I just noticed something strange - on rssc.com, if you select itineraries by ship, there are 2 round trip Fort Lauderdale voyages (March 6, 2009 and April 2, 2009) which are already waitlist only! I guess because of their short duration - 5 and 4 nights, respectively. The other strange thing is, it won't allow you to view the full itineraries for each. confused

Since we're all booked up for 2008 with the PG and ROAR2, I'm already on the hunt for 2009 cruises! Never too soon to start planning ;)

Kristin, Those dates are the debarking dates. Interesting, maybe Ngaire or someone from BK can gives us some idea about these cruises. Hard to believe they are waitlisted with no itineraries listed.

Kristen my guess is these are charters. We actually have no information on cruises past January 26th. I bet these were put on the web in error as they are charters and therefore "on the schedule" and sold out.

Funny you should bring this subject up. I have my TA call Regent about these cruises yesterday. They said, while they are on the web site as waitlist only, they have not figured out prices or itinerary for these sailing. I did get on some kind of waitlist.......

By the way, I like this website. I have been lerking for weeks. I have been on 34 cruises, but never on a luxury line. A couple weeks ago I booked my first Regent Cruise for Dec. 2008 and can't wait!!! I am thinking of one of those shorter spring cruises for my second Regent Cruise.

Welcome to LCT, Therese! Glad you came out of "lurkdom". You will love it here, and I know you will love Regent.

Kristin, Seems you have been on both Silversea and Regent..... How do they compare? I had a hard time decided between the two, on which one to try as my "first" luxury line.......

Therese, the two lines are very similar, especially now that Regent is alcohol-inclusive. Silversea's ships are a bit smaller, and there seemed to be slightly more of a "formal" feeling in comparison to my experience on the Navigator. We've been fortunate enough to have excellent experiences on ALL of our cruises on both lines.

The larger Silversea ships are SO similar to the Navigator it is eerie! Very nice.

Thanks, good to hear. I am counting the days....

In the meantime we have a Princess Cruise booked for this November 25th.

Princess has been good to us, but I have "expected" more the last few times.

I don't think it's them, as much as it is me.... after 20 years of cruising, my tastes have changed. I like HAL and Celebrity's service better.... All in all, I think I want something smaller!!! No more MEGA ships. (after this November!)

Welcome Therese! Glad you're no longer a lurker! Sounds like you've got some good travels ahead!

Therese, we are (almost begrudgingly) trying a mass market line for the first time - NCL's Pride of America this November. Really only because of the itinerary (Hawaii, never been!) and vacation time restraints. We are cautiously optimistic. I can't believe we have to PAY for soda - oh my goodness! We're used to inclusive CAVIAR...oh well, we'll be OK. We are excited about our destination, and have put our expectations in the appropriate spot. I don't mean to sound like a princess here...but Regent and Silversea definitely DO spoil you. You are going to LOVE the luxury cruise life.

Kristin, I am hoping I do get spoiled. I told my husband I was booking this cruise. He is not concerned about this booking, however, he is concerned that I will not want to go back to a mass market line!! I think he is right!!!!

Hi Therese,

I am sorry to tell you that your husband is probably right. Mine said that we can cruise luxury lines as long as I can pay for them (lol) so I am working 7 days a weeks and 12 hours a day (not quite). Total spoiling from Regent. You will not be sorry
