Well here we are less than a week to go . . .

Trying to get some sleep, but let's be honest, it's tough . . .

Wondering what the group knows about UPGRADES from RSSC?

If the ship isn't full and you are a prior passenger, do they offer to upgrade you?

We had a call this week (to our TA) offering us an upgrade from a Penthouse A to a Horizon Suite.

Trouble is we had a Horizon last time and are looking forward to the forward view this time.

Just wondering what may have prompted them to make the offer??

This is a repositioning trip and probably not full, do you think that they made the offer since that's what we had the last time?

Just curious, as always, about all things RSSC.

Mahalo nui loa and have a great day !!

It's pretty rare for them to upgrade people.

We were in a Cat H on Navigator, went to the purser's desk, and got an upgrade to F for $850 for the two of us for 14 nights.

I think it's cheaper to pay for an upgrad onboard instead of buying it outright. They have a chart they go by, and we were told it was 50% of the difference between the two categories.

Normally an upgrade offer like this is for a specific reason. They needed a cabin like yours or even perhaps your exact cabin. Sometimes large family groups book and want to be together so they offer upgrades so people will move. Or a group will only go if one of the members of the group can be in a specific type of cabin this type of thing. This is the normal reason. It is not Radisson policy to upgrade people because the ship has the space.

Thanks for the clarification, I knew that you would know the scoop Ngaire!!

That's what our TA said, that they probably wanted a Penthouse A for some reason.

I told him that we'd be happy to take either a Grand, Mariner or Master Suite instead, but they obviously didn't need our suite that badly.

They can't NOT give you the cabin you've reserved can they? We've got our docs already and have had the reservation since January.

The only other reason our TA said they might be trying to move us would be if there were something wrong with the cabin.

Mahalo again for your responses.
