Settling back in after an awesome week sailing the small ports south of San Juan. We only saw one other cruise ship the entire week which was a monster Princess ship in Barbados.
Silversea was great as usual. Every aspect was up to the high standards we have experienced on previous cruises. The Cloud was refurbished since our cruise last Summer and I have to say they did a fantastic job. You would never know this is an older ship. We did have a slight issue with the air conditioning which was annoying. The A/C was working, but halfway through the cruise it felt a little warmer in common areas and not as cold as we would have liked in the room. Nothing unbearable, but just a little annoying.
The food was wonderful. Had fun at the new Pool Grill "Hot Rocks" where you finish grilling your steak, prawns, or whatever protein you choose on a small hot stone. It was a nice break from the formal dining in The Restaurant. The Italian restaurant was our favorite. We ate there twice in the week.
The ports were interesting. We had 1 sailing day, and the rest ports. We didn't take any organized tours which is one of the main reasons we like Silversea over Regent. If we sailed Regent, the price of the cruise would have been at least $1-2K more because of the "free" excursions. We mainly wandered around the small ports and found beaches to plant ourselves for the day.
Of course the best part of the cruise was to be with friends. We had a great time and are already looking forward to the next adventure!

Sounds like a great time, John! Thanks for checking in. I like the idea of that "Hot Rocks" place! Sounds like the Cloud is in great shape after the refurb.
I would do Silversea again in a heartbeat - it's been way too long.

We had a wonderful time..
As John said the Cloud looked great after the refurb, my only complaint as was many was the couple AC problems. I do wish Silversea would tone it down a bit with the informal nights in the Caribbean with the temps it forced me to do many Miami Vice nights because I was not going to be hot with the shirt and tie look.
That being said, Silversea really does it right, Food was excellent once again and the choices are wonderful. It was also wonderful to go to so many of the Non Buffet Buster Ports as I call them, and only seeing one other cruise ship was something new for us.
The Staff was wonderful once again, and work as hard as ever.
Traveling with a group that GETS each other is also a real treat, and aside from a 10 Foot wave in Barbados almost ripping my shoulder off in a Rip Current the trip was a Home Run.. The Booze numbed that up pretty good at night though.
We are already patrolling the next SMOKING hot deal and will share once we find it.
