We've never taken Ambien, but last time I was getting a physcial I got a prescription from my doctor.

What has been the experience of taking them during a flight?

While we are booked in business on Swiss and Iberia I am unrealistically hoping that space on British opens up - I'm almost to the point of buying tickets - possibly premium economy. Anyone taken ambien in coach?

Yes I have taken it in coach - for me, works for about 4 hrs and does not leave me groggy - it really helps on an 8 hr flight!!! Joanna

Leslie

I have taken it only when I fly and the two days after arrival during the period I was to adjust my clock to. Going to Europe from LA, I take it after dinner service - about 7 hours before landing. From Tahiti on the red eye, took it an hour into flight and woke up in time for breakfast. We don't fly 1st ofr BC unless we can use mileage rewards, and lately, that hasn't happened.
I have 10 mg and woke up so that I could function a full day at destination. I won't fly far without it.

If it were me, and I had never taken Ambien, I would try it out a week or so before the trip, just to see how you react to it. I have thought about doing this, but I think I'll stick with a couple of Robax muscle relaxants, which allowed me to sleep coming back from Tahiti last time. (I have some sciatica, and it really helps, but also makes me sleepy.)
