Ralph, you and Brayden will have a blast there and it’s still early for others to sign up.

I am the lucky granpa with wonderfull grandkids. The ARCTIC trip is as much for me as for Brayden. He will be 12 1/2 when we go next year. A good age I think. He should remember the adventure with his Granpa when his Granpa is old and grey, as if I am not already.

Charlotte does wrap me around her little finger. Guess it is because I did not have a daughter and she is the first granddaughter. She is only 7 so we have lots of years ahead of us.

Looking forward to seeing all at the HO DOWN in November. It will be a blast.

Ralph, you are lucky to be young and fit enough to have a grandson at the perfect age for a trip like this. It will be an adventure he will never forget, I'm sure, even if it is partly for you!

Ralph, I think it's fantastic that you're taking your grandson on a cruising adventure. I came across a blog you might like. It's the photographer on Prince Albert II. Here's the link: http://sichonice.blogspot.com/

Be sure to look under blog archives on lower left-hand side. Fantastic photos of Norway and Antarctica.

I'm lusting after a SS Prince Albert II cruise.

Thanks for the link to the blog, Donna - there are some terrific photos! I would love to do the Iceland/Greenland itinerary one of these days.

Terrific that you joined the cruise. There are others but have not asked to be added to roll call. May not be LCTers.

I have not booked the hotel yet but plan to use the Radisson SAS. It has a downtown central location. I noted the location when we did a tour of Tromso during the Norway cruise this past July.

Brayden and I arrive at 6:10pm on 7/31/10 and plan to stay the night of 7/31/ and 8/1 so I can show him the sights of Tromso. We are planning on the Polar Museum and the cable car for sure.

Ralph - we're aboard. We get to Tromso the night before embarkation. Must buy transatlantic tickets sometime soon.

Looking forward to meeting your grandson and enjoying the adventure. Tromso is a great city to explore.

cheers, Anne and Gary

Oh, I'd love to do this. Major seal mail will be needed.

Diane .. major seal mail it is! Ralph, nothing we'd like better than a drink at the far away bar.

FYI - Continental posted their summer Biz Class discounts a couple days ago. We've got our transatlantic locked in for ARCTIC, thanks to this development. I think this has been posted at least 3 months earlier than last year.

US Air also has a nonstop from Phila to Oslo.

Cheers, Anne

The bears are actually from a picture that Ken took when we went last year. They were two males sparring but we changed it to a smile!
