George,
Thanks so much for the photos. Did Marsha ever get her bag? It looks like you're having a great time. I'm very happy for you. It also looks like you were able to snare Marcie away from the Texas Hold Em machine. Say hi to Marsha for me.

Bird safari today was surprisingly good. Sea eagles were magnificient. PIctures too blurry to post.

Karen,
If my memory is correct, Honningsvag is the port to go to Nordkapp. But don't quote me on it! :)

Honningsvag was yesterday in cold cloudy skies. Today in Tromso it was sunny and warm - short sleeve weather. We left Tromso about 2 hours ago and are sailing through some gorgeous landscape. Trivia starts in 15 minutes so -bye bye! Jim

This is Marc posting for Joanna...I am too lazy to log her off and me in.
Tromso was wonderful except for a shortage of taxis. If Joanna was posting, she would say that she never made it to the top of the cable car which is where the webcam Karen posted is located. As this isn't Joanna, I can report that Arlene and I were able to commandeer a taxi and get to the cable car and also get a city tour. Only negative is that our camera is beginning to get even less reliable.
Tonight is our Range Rover Reunion dinner in Compass Rose followed by Liars Club with Kenny Smiles. I think we are going to have to find volunteers to save seats in Horizon Lounge for us as I am sure dinner will be long and lively. Maybe one of the kids onboard would like to make a quick $10. :D
This group has been even better than MUSH. Having 14 nights instead of seven allows for more dinner companions. We have met so many posters and lurkers that we had never met before along with reunions with past cruisers and ROARers. This has been a magical cruise. I know some are disappointed about missing the icepack...but....
....ship happens.
No stalking tomorrow as it will be our last sea day. Gudvangen and Flam on the 3rd followed by Bergen on the 4th.
More later...
Joanna

The ship did a lengthy "drive by" of the North Cape so I don't think too many felt compelled to make the journey up there - logistics would have been difficult unless on tour since there were reportedly only two (empty) taxis in Honningsvag. Many of us signed up for the deep sea rafting but canceled when we were bumped from our 1 PM slot to a 7 PM departure due to the change in arrival. Cindy & David did snag a space on the 4 PM rafting trip and will hopefully report in on the excursion. Some did visit the ice bar and someone will undoubtedly report in on that experience.
Gorgeous day today - we had great views from the top of the cable car. Ngaire, Ken, Brad & I luckily were able to snag a cab by having other drivers call in for a dispatch. Lots of great scenery all afternoon for lunch outside followed by post lunch "poochin by the pool" and for finally (!) enjoying the balcony.
Brad and I and the sistahs had our Range Rover reunion dinner in La Verandah - blue cheese burgers and ribs!
Karen - Dag's home town is Nevlunghavn.

Liar's club was great! Ngaire & Ken's group were the big winners.
I think they should replace one daily trivia quiz with a "pronounce all these town names correctly" contest. It would certainly be worth a few laughs, though I suspect short on correct responses.
Tonight we've got Latitudes with Donna, Alan, Leslie and Brad. We enjoyed the first menu and are looking forward to tasting the second.
We be poochin' again this morning. Since it's a sea day, we may be having two tables going at it. Let the yelping begin.
I am so not hungry. Coffee will do this morning. I've been scarfing down the popcorn like it's manna from heaven.
Dinner was centered on Europe's favorite spingtime treat, white asparagus. It was wonderful!
Cheers, Anne

It was so wonderful seeing bright sunlight yesterday! It was gorgeous! This was the first sunshine we've had since leaving California!
Last night was a cocktail party in the crew bar for RSSC's Titatiums and Platinums. It was very nice. We had dinner with Englebert (the Hotel Director) in CR following the party which was really nice. This was the first time we've had the pleasure to dine with him as we had to decline several invites while still on the WC. What a nice man....all the good things we had heard about him are true! In between courses we all had Aquavit (probably mispelled). Andrea walked over to our table to say hi and mentioned she had never tasted it. Englebert sent an entire round of Aquavits over to the range rover reunion table. Very thoughtful!
After dinner we went to Liar's Club where most all of the LCTers played. We were on Brad and Leslie's team but lost. Oh well, lots of fun and laughs for sure! Then back to VL to end the evening.
Today is our last Sea day so more fun at games, trivia, bingo....the usuals!!
Karen, you've done such an amazing job of stalking us!! You never cease to amaze me!
Suzie

Most of us skipped the Ice Bar because they wanted a bit over $20.00 to go in. Maybe some LCTer will have a photo. Karen, Nevlunghavn is Capt Dag's home village. Probably no cams there because it's not a cruise port, just a fishing village and camping stop for people in cars or on bikes. There will be German tourists there wondering what the hell a big white ship is doing sitting off shore. Jim

Yesterday was beautiful - warm and sunny - shops were closed, that was disappointing, as the town was sweet and there were some interesting shops and streets - we grew impatient waiting for cab so headed back to ship - the patient ones got a cab seconds after we boarded the shuttle - dinner last night with Pam and Tom and Michele and Don - lots of laughs - I headed up around 11:15 and made some phone calls home to family and friends -today sea day looks sunny outdoors and it was so nice having use of pool deck yesterday - a cheeseburger just tastes better on the pool deck - the people on this cruise are wonderful - Tony had downloaded more pixs so I will see if I can post some later today - we are in ports after today and looking forward to excursions etc - hard to believe our 9th day on ship - time is flying - Oh my it is noon!!!! Maybe a trip to pool bar is in order - again, we are enjoying this trip and loving all the friends we have reconnected with and new ones we are making -

Finally, an afternoon where I don't need a nap. Being on this cruise is like having constant jet lag. Between late night dancing and the midnight sun, I've need lots of afternoon naps. I'm catching up on posting photos. Here are the ones from our first stop in Geiranger. As you can see, I have much catching up to do. http://picasaweb.google.com/donnahull/NorwayCruiseGeiranger?authkey=wrrrFR5rOWU Too much fun, too many wonderful traveling friends and too little time!

There’s a Konfessional Inquiry on board. Kenny Smiles is serving as Prosletizing Stenographer. An uncertified, bald Santa took Santa Ole’s place on the Ice Cape. Santa Ole has no choice but to resign, citing a clause violation. I fear there may be a Santa packing the ice before long (that’s a long walk off a short plank for you non-Norweigians).
I POOched at least one game. Marc POOched to double-POOch me. He’s road kill, in a friendly sort of way. Other LCT achievements:
Marilyn – our new champion (holder for our English friends) in shuffle golf. We need to negotiate her picture in the Voyager Gamer Hall of Fame, with appropriate token royalties.
We played Taboo. Marc and I did our best for the U of C Crimson as I was arm assistant (no gestures allowed). We cleaned up after a massive close by our opposing team.
George, Marsha, Gary & I traversed the narrow straits of Trivia. No mas for tokens, but some mighty creative answers.
AMEX cocktails tonight, then POW WOW almost reunion from our Santa Fe Soliloquy. Should be a good time tonight.
Cheers, Anne

It's supposed to be the Costa Magica. When I went to look there was this message. "We regret to inform you that the displayed data has not been updated due to problems with our satellite connection"
