We will be going on the Insignia Sept30 from Rome to Athens.Has anyone taken this cruise?I heard that they do not do a great job with their excursions and I am going to try to find private tours for the 6 of us traveling together.Does anyone have suggestions? This looks like a great itinerary, any help would be appreciated.

Peg, there is a section on this board, "Private Guides" that has been most helpful to me. I find that Claudia's recomendations (she is also an Oceania fan) are always spot on (although prices seem to have gone up quite a bit lately). I have also had good luck with rec's on the cruise critic "Ports" Board. 6 people is a perfect size group, and the price will almost always be less than 6x the ship's excursion, and SO much more pleasant! More time to do what you want. As a rule, I usually go through the ship's "menu" of excursions and pick and choose the sights I want to see after doing a little research about them. Happy planning!
Welcome to LTC! I notice this is your first post!
