Regent didn't disappoint. The trip was wonderful. Only one sea day out of 12. Just got back last night. We stayed on in London for 5 nights. We really liked London but it is so expensive right now. The dollar is half what the pound is worth. We did Regent's pre-cruise to Berlin. The Regent people were right there to meet and greet us and take us to their lovely hotel "The Regent" (used to be the Four Seasons). Glad we saw Berlin but wouldn't go back. Not worth the add on price of the cruise. Should of left right from Copenhagen. Regent did take good care of us while in Germany and getting us to the airport for our Copenhagen flight. The tour guide came right to the check-in desk with us. Our luggage was so over-weight. I thought we would just pay it. But, the Regent lady spoke German to the airport lady at the counter and they didn't charge us a thing for the extra weight! WE were very grateful. Most of the Regent tours were excellent but a few were not worth the money. Sometimes, I think you are better off on your own or with a private guide. Ngaire and Ken had a lovely cocktail/dinner party for all of us PUBS travelers. Took a van into London with Peter and Mark. The worst part of traveling is flying; even in Business class. WE are probably going to do ROAR II next September. All you ROAR I people let me know your thoughts and if you would go back. I will write more later after some rest. I don't go back to work until Tuesday. Yuck! P.S. We had no problems with lost luggage. We must of left our pictures from the ship's photo shop in our suite 747. We bought about 8 8 x 10's and left them there. Ngaire is making an inquiry about them. Judy & John

Welcome home Judy & John.

Yes, we agree that some of the Regent excursions were not worth the money. The one that sticks out in our mind is the one in Edinburgh for the Castle & City tour - basically it was $69.00 for a bus ride into the city (which we could have used the complimentary shuttle anyways) with a guide who explained the city a bit and escorted us into the Castle (including admission) followed by a bit more driving around the city. Exploring the ports on this cruise would have been easy to do on your own since there is no language barrier. We probably regretted taking about 1/3 of the excursions that we did but nothing was quite as "bad" as the Edinburgh one.

Hi Judy,

Welcome back. You must be tired after all that vacationing.

I hope they find your pictures!

Ngaire is trying her best to get thoses pictures. To top things off, John fell down the stairs on the double-decker bus and smashed the lens on our Canon camera. We ended up buying throw-away cameras at a drug store. Just booked ROAR 2!

The last time that we were in Africa we dropped our video camera the first day. We were on safari and missed out on a lot of good pictures. We were also limited on weight and ended up carrying a useless camera around.
You will love Africa. We would love to go back but are afraid to do so because of Marty's health issues. We have been to many places and Africa is his favorite trip. These trips that Nigaire plans really seem outstanding. We would love to go but he will probably be on dialysis soon and we can't plan that far ahead.

Bette, Thanks for your note. I guess most everyone has dropped a camera on a vacation. I am sorry that you won't be coming along this trip. I am also sorry your husband may need to go on dialysis. You definitely don't want to be out of the country if you are a dialysis patient. Not unless you make prior arrangements at dialysis centers. I work in the ER in Las Veags and I can't tell you the number of patients from out of town that didn't make arrangements and end up having it done in the ER. Marty, hang in there and good care of yourself. Judy
