Has anyone sailed on Sea Dream I or Sea Dream II since they were sold, refurbished and renamed? They are the former Sea Goddess ships. From what I have read, the cabins would not live up to the staterooms on Radisson ships - much smaller and no balconies. However, the whole idea of 110 passengers or less and a casual, but luxurious experience going into some smaller ports appeals to me. I've been spoiled after having 133 passengers on the Diamond in Sep, 2001 and probably less than 100 on The World last year. Just curious if the overall experience makes up for the smaller cabins and no balcony?

We have really been considering this line for a while and love the idea of the ship making up your bed room outside under the stars in private.. interesting concept.. very romantic..but what happens when you gotta get up ? you know..

Adele and Claudia, we also have considered this line. I got their brochure, and as you say, those Balinese beds and sleeping under the stars if you wish, sounds so romantic. What decided me against them is the possibility of seasickness. We are very susceptable to it. We had trouble the first couple days on our recent Oceania/Carribean cruise, and one day on a SS cruise in the Carrib. These are much smaller ships, and I think you would be more likely to experience motion problems.
Just my take - if it weren't for that, we would give them a try.

We met a young couple last Sept on our first Radisson cruise and still keep in touch with them - they took a Sea Dream this past January and loved it - I forget all the details but I will ask if there were any negatives - they did the caribbean and said they'd go again on Sea Dream - liked the small number of passengers, food, staff, those were things I remember - I have enjoyed Radisson so much I am reluctant to try anything else right now - Joanna

I am one of the "young couple" that Joanna is talking about. We did take a SeaDream cruise in January and loved it!
Service was the best I have ever experienced, food was outstanding and the number of passengers was perfect.
The only negative I can think of is that cabins are definitely smaller than Radisson and lack balconies. At first I was hesitant after being spoiled on the Diamond, however at the end of my cruise I did not miss it at all. SeaDream has so many open air areas, and dinner is served under the stars several nights during the week, also the ship is equipped with some fabulous Balinese sun beds that you will really enjoy.
I would have to rate the SeaDream as one of my best experiences ever, from the itinerary, to the crew that I highly recommend you give it a try. I don't think you will be sorry.

Linda Coffman (cruise diva) has a wonderful review on the CC board. I remember reading it about a month or so ago. She just raves about this cruiseline. I have to agree with you Glenda that I too would be a little concerned about sea sickness, depending on the itinerary as the ships are so small. Other than that though, they sound like the ultimate luxury experience.

I still want to try this line.. It sounds wonderful.. We fell in love with the Renaissance line when they were baby ships that held only 112 people ( just lik ethe size of these ships/yachts.. no motion sickness ever.. it ws the best..

I sailed on the ships prior to Sea Dream - was on the Seabourn Sea Goddess II. Outstanding everything to be sure, and the most personal service I've had. I would warn those of you who get seasick that you can definitely feel the motion on these ships. Compared say, to Navigator there is a huge difference. We did the Caribbean, and it wasn't a rough cruise, but on shore excursions I felt dizzy to the point I thought something was wrong. If the conditions were right (price, itinerary, etc.) I'd go again in a heartbeat. Food, service, atmosphere were all outstanding, and these ships have been upgraded since I sailed. All staff knew our names and preferences within the first day or so.
